just picked up a new Epiq 68" (well a little over a month ago) when i picked up the box my Snap on guy told me the stainless top would be here in about a week, was gonna get it shipped directly to me at the dealer i work at.. well every week i have seen him he says it hasn't shipped yet or its on order or some BS.. any one else ever have any issues like this/suggestions?

he said the reason he didnt have a top ordered with the box was because of the 3 different ones available for the epiq boxes which is understandable.. but where the hell is my top?! lol

ive noticed snap on does have some backorder issues lately. another thing with the snap on guys is depending on how you are paying for it, if they have a lot of credit out they might wait to order things until they can on their accounts, and a lot of times it will be "backordereD". there should only be one...

KWSP3068BST

and it says ships in 7 days usually. could be backordered, could be snap on guy waiting to take the hit on his account...either way just push him along and im sure he will get it done.

Probably in the same place my buddy's new Snap-On box is, who the help knows. He ordered this thing in the middle of October and is still waiting. He was told the middle of November and then it became "sometime in December". To add insult to injury he's making payments on it already.

one plain stainless top
one with 2 power strips on it
one with 2 power strips and a clamshell for a laptop or scan tool on it..

just seems like some **** that when I'm buying my box it will be there in a week and now that I have it its "on order"

A good portion of the tops are made in batches for each model box, not a year-round production. Pretty sure your dealer is not going to ignore any order for you, and even moreso after your purchase.

This time of year ***** for box deliveries. The factory just finished a big overhaul in the summer adding the KRA lines plus a lot of vacations go down now. The shop also closes for a couple weeks for maintenance at the end of the year.

All told, you're looking at several weeks to get deliveries minimum. I ordered a 84" Epiq overhead storage and riser this time last year and it took 40 working days...my customer was PISSED but he LOVES the box now :)

Certainly hope my trade/purchase goes a little smoother this winter. Im paying COD but it would drive me crazy paying on something that i didn't have in my possession.

Congrats on the new epiq and good luck getting your top in a timely manner!

i hate the fact but my local snap on guy *****! Worst tool guy in the area. I would like nothing but have all my tools be snap on but the fact that it takes 2 months to get a socket warranty just doesn't fly. I would say the Mac tools guy is deff on top of his job at least in my area therefore why 80% of boxes and tools come from him. Sorry if I'm just ranting off i just hate the fact that my snap on guys *****! good luck with your top I'm actually waiting for my stainless top for my box also.

Yeah, if its not here by Christmas, he's telling the toolman that he will start paying again when the damn thing shows up. Part off the problem I think is the oddball color he ordered (deep purple), if he'd ordered black it would probably be here by now.

Going with orange? Lol I still have yet to see an epiq in person.

Lol...well of course! Saw my first one on the truck a few weeks ago. I was lucky it was dark gray or I'd have likely just gotten him to drop it at my house! Damn nice boxes! Just don't know if I want to pay more for the bling. I know they're built "better" but I'm not hard on my boxes. The krl1032 is a bit cheaper and offers a lot more real estate. That and it has stupidly wide drawers!!

Popular color and happened to be in stock. If you are in the midwest, your orders ship out of Crystal Lake IL and they have stocked a lot of KRL accessories.

energ66 when you get the top inspect it to make sure it sits flat on the top of your tool box. When I ordered the tops for my box's both of them were warped from corner to corner and rocked on top of the box. Snap-On was a pain in the *** when it came to doing something about the issue.

^ great to look forward to, but thanks for the heads up.

yea i had been talking to my guy about upgrading for a while so he picked this box up pretty much with intentions of selling it to me lol just found it odd that the day i got the box it would be a week to get my top and now that i have it its on order...

hopefully you guys are right about the build times and what not, would really like the top so i can get everything set up how i'd like it.

I've been in the same boat as you. I just mailed them in and stopped supporting the dealer completely. He was really interested in where I got a new 1/2 dual 80 one day so I told him I bought it online and just warranty my stuff in the mail and why I chose that route instead of using him. Didn't help. Guy couldn't see it even when it was spelled out.
