snap on box pricing help request

Need help with fair pricing a box for sale near me that I am interested in. The boxes are loaded with tools, but none that I can really say "I need". (Do we ever?)

Anyway, its a 3 tier box, including:

KRA 4810
KRA 4860A
KRA 4800

Loaded the guy is asking 3K but I've seen a lot of these boxes by themselves at 1200 or less (no tools). He prefers to sell it whole, but again, I can't see making tons back on the tools, few hundred if that, said "make me an offer on the whole thing or just for the boxes". It's been for sale for a few months at the 3K price. Box is very clean, 9/10 but the drawers don't seem to slide better than my 20 yr old craftsman Rally Roller and overall quality is equal to it. I like the idea of a 41" box versus 35".......

I've seen local sellers similar things for less than half. His house is on the market and he's looking to take nothing with him....

Heavily dependent on location (local market) and what tools are included. Maybe ~$1200 for the boxes then add on what you think the USED tools might be worth. The problem with his asking price, especially if the tools aren't that great is once you get past the $2K mark you can find some much larger, nicer, more valuable boxes.

I agree. Those drawers would have to be neatly organized and generously filled with shiny new snap on tools for me to pay $3000. There is an extreme green krl with a hutch filled with tools on my local craigslist for just over $4000.
