Hi there,

I have a Snappy Classic 96 box that when locked, locks the center and left hand row of drawers but not the right hand row. I will try to take it apart next week to troubleshoot it. Have any of you ever dealt with this? Any tips or advice is welcome. If I can't get it to lock I am thinking of putting a free sign on that side.

Thanks

yes I have seen this with my own box and others as well. It has always been something at the rear on one drawer holding up the lock bar. For me it was a test lead, this can happen to any of the toolbox brands that rely on a lock bar at the rear.

Pull out the drawers starting at the top, one at a time. You may need to release the side to get it to slide out enough to see behind. The hooks that latch the drawers shut can grab items and stop it from working. Happened to me.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Sounds like something probably got caught, that's reassuring, I appreciate it.

Another thing I would check is if the box is level.

Long ago, when I went to lock my toolbox I noticed some drawers were not locked but some were, it because the garage floor was sloped slightly to the street, I ended up leveling the box by putting 2x4's underneath the front of the box and never had that problem again.
