Hey guys, so I might be able to pick up this box pretty cheap- say $2-300. No tools of course, just the box. Can anyone shed any light on the value in it's present condition? Not sure if it's a good deal or not, I havent seen it in person. Thanks

If the box is in decent condition I could get $600 to $700 for that box once cleaned up

If the box was closer to me then I would say no you should not get it but tell me where it is. Since it is far away....I guess you should go ahead and get it

Check all the drawer slides by the pic looks like a couple drawers are crooked. I think snappy will replace the slides not sure but you can check with snap-on. looks like it might clean up fairly well. I had that same box years ago traded it for my matco triple bay should of kept it and bought my matco outright.

Slides look good, it's the actual drawer pulls that are bent.

But.. you have to follow the path of the force. Think about how much force it took to bend that drawer pull from a hit and then where that force was transferred throughout the box. It looks like it's been around the block a time or two, hence my initial comments above.

Good observations, that box is an extremely busy shop, and is shared amongst 4 mechanics. It hasn't led an easy life at all, I can't begin to imagine the use the use that box has seen. Ill probably stop by this weekend to take a look at it. They are redoing the shop and getting new boxes from what I understand.

That is a great price on that box, grab it. That model is well built and you can see several GJ threads on restoration. You can sell if for more if you are not pleased with it.
