Did Snap 0n ever make a box like this.
Looks like a nice box, but looks like a waterloo craftsman I think. But I could be wrong.
Local seller states it's a Snap-On. He says 26 X 16 X 19, so I'm assuming 16"deep.
Thanks.

A legit snap on will almost always have information engraved on the back
with model number and year.

That's definitely a Craftsman box. I remember having that exact box in my basement 20 years ago.

I've seen some Snap On boxes as far back as the late 1970's and they had the serial number engraved as well. This looks like a Craftsman box and is the seller is trying to pass it off as a SO then walk away.

I have that exact same Craftsman top box... tho it's not Snappy, mine so far has given me 30+ years of faithful service.

You can either get irate, and hammer the azzole who pushed it off as Snappy (and if he did, I certainly would on principle)... or you can know you got a damned good topbox that will last at least thru your kids.

I HATE people who sheister tools (and boxes) but unless you paid more than just under mid 3 digits, you didn't do that bad True, you're gonna have to keep the sliders cleaned and greased every year or 2 but I know from personal experience unless you bought it as a snappy investment piece, as a top box, those are hard to go bad with. 35 years of abusing my old work boxes tell me so...

If the seller is saying it's Snappy - I will tell you up front he's full of what comes out from under the horses tail. I'd negotiate that box down... because it's a good beater service box.. but it AIN'T no snappy.

i wonder if the classic red/black Craftsman tool box colors are trademarked?

Snap-on boxes from the mid 70's onward are single color. It seems if someone puts a Snap-on sticker on a box, the price of the box doubles, whether its a Beach or Craftsman

Definitely a Craftsman box. Snap On did make a sorta-similar looking box a long time ago, but this is not it.

Waterloo sticker probably on the inside sidewall of right top corner drawer. Still easily worth $50 if the slides are good. Seller may genuinely not know.

When I made the comment about the Snap-on sticker, I thought he would asking about $200. Seller probably does not know, with the Cat emblem on it

My co-worker has this box sitting in his office and though it's old, it feels like a current day Snap On. The slides are silky smooth and the metal is thick, like 16 gauge sheet metal. Negotiate this price down because he lied and if you scored it, it's a great box.
