Snap on breaker bar length

what is the best length for a 1/2 inch breaker bar. its between a 15 inch, 18 inch, and the 24 inch.

depends on how much room you have to swing it. 24 inch has been most useful in my experience.

I went with the 24 inch because if you have to angle it out for clearance, the additional length will help with the leverage.

a guy really needs the 15, the 18 and the 24.

yeah i don't think i need all three I'm thinking maybe the 18 for clearance reasons but the 24 would be nice as well

I have all 3 sizes and the 18 is the goto bar. The 24 is too long to swing and only use for tough jobs like crank pulley bolts.

Where and what are you working on? Or what hobby/hobbies will you be using it? That can make a difference....if antique tractors or rebuilding larger equipment, then the 24" would probably be better; but if it is go-karts or snowmobiles, then the 15" or 18" would work as well.

yeah mostly smaller stuff atv,cars, and whatever else. i think I'm gonna get an 18 know i just gotta find one for a decent price that isn't a pile

The leverage offered by my 24" breaker bar and 24" ratchet has been extremely useful.

Snap-On makes a 36" 1/2-drive breaker now. Haven't read much in the way of reviews on that just yet.
