I need some help. So I got a hold of a 20pcs Snap-On 4 angle wrench set 1/4- 1 3/8. The new job I am starting requires you to shadow your tools. To save ALOT of space and not shadow each wrench I would like to get a wrench wrap/pouch. I looked on thier website but could not find anything, then looked on ebay and seen big wrench sets w/ the wrap so I know Snappy makes/ or made them. Called Snap_On and the guy could not find what I needed and suggested a wrench rack. So I need your help, Do you have one for sell? Maybe tell me where to find one, Doesnt need to be snappy but it would be cool if was. Thanks guys!

My suggestion is to get a Cornwell kit bag, K210, $20. Made of heavy nylon. My Mac wrenches fit good, but are slightly longer than Cornwell, you might want to compare sizes before ordering/buying.

Because if they get left behind in an engine, or even loose in a compartment, they could bring a plane down.

Is a wrench roll allowed? People would turn over in their graves if I used one of those in the work boxes!

Got it. Wasn't thinking about things that fly.

Usually those that work around things that go "boom" or things that "fly" require it. I guess those are not really mutually exclusive descriptive monikers...LOL/

The military and said military contractors love it and use it regularly for good reasons.

Why do they require you to shadow tools?

It's called FOD avoidance.

Foreign Object Debris/damage.

There are many methods of accounting for tools to ensure they aren't left in an engine, or if one is working in confined spaces, it ensures all tools are accounted for before the site is closed.

I have a brand new Snapon C212 wrench roll that has pockets for 21 wrenches. It is very big. $35 shipped if you are interested.

When I worked on Canadian military aircraft, we had to shadow our boxes.....

When I moved to civilian airlines, they couldn't give a flyin **** about it. I've worked for 4 airlines now and not one of em gave a **** about tool control. I suspect it's mostly the same in the US. Most of us do it anyways just for peace of mind.

Helicopter operations, however, are different. They seem to have rigorous tool control policies.

Just get wrench rolls from sears I have a few and they are great. I had to get shadowed foam cut outs for one of my travel boxes and it was not cheap.

Yup, its an accountability/FOD thing. This place is the Rolls Royce of the coporate world, so not just leaving a socket in the inlet is bad but also leaving one under a seat and having it roll out and hit the clients foot is a no-no also. I recently left the AirForce and wrench wraps were used in our everyday shadowed boxs, so I "assume" it would be ok. A wrench wrap is a must for me right now as the 20pcs set would take up way to much space in a shadowed 26'' wide box.
