Does anyone know what the warranty is on the carbide burrs (VWB400A set)? Two of mine are now blunt with chipped teeth, i am assuming they are a consumable item but as I no longer have local dealer so was checking before I purchase some new ones online (not Snap on this time!)

They're a consumable, but for what SO charges they should be replaced on warranty for normal wear. Under warranty it says the "item will be audited at the replacement processing center".

So, the obvious answer is to call Snap On. If they say no, call again and keep trying. People here have reported that their customer service is hit and miss on issues like this, so you may need to talk to more than one rep to get an ok. A dealer that you had a good relationship with would obviously be more helpful.

If you have no luck, Harry Epstein is a great source for USA made carbide burrs.

Once I began running out of space for hardline tools, I started looking for consumables.

Rotary burrs and other tools are a great thing to look for at garage/estate sales.

I would also recommend looking for drill bit sets, rotary tool bit sets, die grinder bit sets, ROLOC discs, acid brushes, paint brushes, sawzall blades… the list is endless.

Once you have more than enough for many lifetimes, start buying only from better countries (USA, Switzerland, Germany, England…).

If you account for time and gas… the tools may end up costing more, but you will end up with higher end versions than you could ever justify.

Per the website they're consumables.

If you have a rep you see often I'd try to warranty them. I exchange air hammer bits all the time, it never crossed my mind the burrs wouldn't be.

The snap on branded air hammer bits are straight-up lifetime warranty. The USA made ones they make themselves. The rebrands, like the C-clip removal tool for U joints is materials/workmanship despite being labeled Snap On. It's made in Taiwan, I think it's actually at Schley tool? What's weird is BluePoint has some that are Taiwanese, but lifetime warranty. I think those are also Schley, I have the set from the OEM.

Basically everything but my trusty C-clip removal bit are lifetime warranty. Although if you're a good/consistent customer, stuff gets swapped even if it's not warranty. Driver is basically just eating the cost.
