Going by the placement and style of the markings on the wrenches and sockets, really wouldnt be surprised to find out that its the same as blue-point.

As long as it is good Quality COO means nothing to me, I am a world economy kind of guy and am fine with country X making product Y and then buying caterpillar d10's, emd locomotives and boeing 747's from us.

I did an experiment today. I compared my employee discount to my newly received Carlyle Club card..compared to a "walk in" sale. I tried a few part (tool) numbers, and they were a few bucks less with the card than what a cash sale would be. My discount is still better. Carlyle professional hand tools....The"professional" means try to break them, and I try..but they hold up well...they are tough. Get a card, or get them to set up an account for you. Snap-on are great tools, but I doubt there is any relation to Carlyle.. other than they may copy Snappy.

How big a shop you an employee for?

More volume or love = more savings and deals.

I work as a tech in a NAPA AUTOCARE center, so I get a great discount as an employee...We work on everything. Honestly, I think Carlyle really is professional level tools. I like them.

full disclosure: I have cleaned and applied rll (the "red lube of love", permatex ultra slick engine re-assembly lube) on all of my snap on and carlyle ratchets, which makes a huge difference. The carlyle ratchets don't come "bone dry" from the factory like kobalt ratchets, but the lube carlyle uses doean't seem that good. Very different feel after cleaning and rll'ing them.
My carlyle ratchets and my kobalt 1/4 drive ergo ratchet are all quite a bit smoother than my dual-80 tll-72 and f80 snap on ratchets, very noticeably.

put the crack pipe down

The counter guy told me that the people who design their ratchets are the same as Snap-On.

go back and tell him that Snap On are the people who design Snap On ratchets and Snap On are not the people who design Carlyle ratchets. should clear that up.

we need more urban legends and misinformation in the world, there isn't enough.
