Snap-on CJ2000SB

Does anyone else have the master puller set from Snap-on? A few months ago I was looking at this set and almost had a heart attack when I saw the $4,500 price tag. It later dawned on me that I already had most of the pullers in this set, so for around $800 I finished it off. It is nice having them all organized and more room in my tool box BUT, it can be a pain building the pullers every time you need one because they have to be set up a certain way to hang on the control board. My boss also told me I couldn’t hang it on the wall, they don’t want holes in the wall I guess.
While I am a fan of Snap-on I do have to be honest, I think for the price some of the puller adapters brake too easily, like the tips on the arms. They do get warrantied no questions asked but that doesn’t help in the middle of a job. I don’t know it could be operator error or not.

I have most of that set plus other interchangeable parts. I agree, it is a real pain to build a puller , but once it is built, it works great!!!

I had most of the guts, and I found the cabinet on CL for $50. It's almost full now.

I got my missing items list on my phone for swap meets/estate sales.

Kinda ***** breaking down every time etc. Especially since I had dedicated kits where the pullers were put back into their plastic trays without being taken apart. I kept those trays and boxes just in case. I'm still not certain I'm in love with it because I also have other snap on pullers and pieces that don't fit in the cabinet so they are still in the drawer. And then I have about a million Proto parts and pieces that are in their drawer as well. I feel like there is no good way to organize pullers unless you have the huge Snap-on triangle stand on casters that takes up about 10 square feet.

Designing your own pegboard like another user did above maybe the best option.

(Also, I think the cabinet and control board is something like $1,100 from Snap-on website. That is totally insane and crazy. It's a little bit of metal, plexiglass, and pressboard. Highway robbery at its finest.)

Had the set in the old shop. Growing up in the 80's I seen them in truck repair shops.I thought they would be a awesome puller set. Bought a used set from the Snap-on dealer around 2004.

I found it was not really that practical. Guys would make multiple trips to the board to figure out what puller to assemble. I was faced with taking them apart and finding the pieces, at the end of the day. Separate pullers that you leave together would have worked better in my case.

I've got all the components but keep them in a drawer. I bought the CG83 pressure screw twice and cut one in 2/3 for close quarters work. The small third without a head has a welded 3/4-16 1 1/8 nut welded to it that comes in handy with the bolt grip set.

Kind of a buy once cry once deal. I have them- glad I do and glad it's already paid for.

Yes, the cabinet and board are expensive, they get a bit too proud of their stuff sometimes.

Got pretty much the same Snap On set hanging on the shop wall in the farm shop. Not the fancy locking cabinet thing, but the tool board and basically the same kit. Probably been in there at least 25-30 years. Seems as though I'm utilizing something from that thing at least once a week. Sure it does take a little time to set up a puller for the application, however when it works right the first time every time, that is a massive time savings right there. Don't know about the sticker price of those things in this current market though

Haha yea, I guess in the picture it looks like that. The slide hammer I bought used it’s from the 90’s. The steering wheel puller set is 15yrs old and the 2 jaw pullers are like 5-6 yrs old. I did pick up the step plates, the bearing splitter, one of the slide hammer adapters, the cabinet and the board. The Snap-on guy I deal with had the whole set at one time and had been selling it off in pieces so he gave me a deal on the stuff I got.

I have the set it resides in two small drawers. The pressing plates --adapters live in a different small drawer since I have a large collection some being custom.
The slide hammer lives in a different drawer.
It would be nice to have them assembled but every time I go to use it it is a custom setup.
A two bank KRA is used as my press tooling box, some of my other press tools KM & OTC have the same thread pitch so I have some extra options.
One of the things SO does not make is Clamshell bearing pullers.....

I got that set, probably 15-20 years ago. Used it many times. I love it, but still don’t give 100% coverage of what you might need.

I have that set and more

If you think that case is dear, I sold a local guy an Epiq box to put his pullers in. That was the only thing he put in the box.

I told him I thought it was overkill but I'd sell it to him and help him set it up the way he wanted it.

He proceeded to show me the puller bitsa he had all over the shop. I'm sure he'd spent more than $100k in various pullers

Sadly, he died the Saturday after he gave me a $15,000 check to pay off the box and his new Verus

I was pleased that the scan tool and box sold for more than what I'd sold them to him

jaykelleywood, If I am not mistaken, the Snap on puller set uses 3/4 inch threads. Something to check before you order one.
