Well, in typical GJ fashion I have outgrown my current SO Classic 78. I got a great deal on it used, and it has served me well. But, as the tool collection grows, the box overflowith.

I am a bit tight on space, and a 56" box is ideal for my garage. I know the Master series is deeper then the classic, but I am curious if...on the off chance there is a member that has gone from a classic or similar sized box to a masters series, and could note the extra capacity?

I would consider a 72", but that would mean A LOT of change from my current workbench area.

KRL 10XX box or bust. I went from a heritage top/bottom double bay, to a KRL 1033. Space increase was stupid, obviously. A KRL722 is 54 wide and 24 deep, 40" off the ground. Classic 78 (KRA2411?) is 54x24x39 tall.

There are two depths of KRL/Masters, 24 and 30 inch. Look at cubic inches to get an idea. Some people have organizational issues leading to needing bigger boxes. Lockers are perfect in a "pro setting" for bulky stuff that eats box space.

i went from a krl722 to a krl1022 (54x24 to 54x29) and that was a big difference. it was almost 1/3 more space. look up the sq/in storage capacity of your model and go from there. a 29in deep krl has roughly the same capacity as 73in classic (depending on the drawer layouts of each)

Yeah my classic 78 was a big step up from what I had, and I got a killer deal on it. I will be looking at the 30" deep masters, and dreaming of the epiqs!

Good to hear. I don't feel like I have organizational issues, just have too many tools that I "want" to keep in my box, and I keep adding. I figured the extra depth would be beneficial, but it's hard to visualize for me. I will keep a lookout for the 29" deep boxes.

Yeah I hope it all pans out. I really don't like supporting Asian manufacturers if I can avoid it!
I never needed buy a new box in 30 years let alone chinese, I always been able find truck used, had few snap-on but got a liking for Matco and they use to be easy find pretty cheap but most of my buying was before online became such easy advertising platform that made used boxes easier sell and demand higher prices .
I probably saved well over 20K in my career from buying and selling few used truck boxes as and when opportunity or my needs made it necessary .
good luck ...

Well I know I should be posting pics, but the condition I bought it in isn't fit for publishing.

Once I give it a good scrub and polish, I will post up. I'm very happy with the purchase price, let's just hope she cleans up well.

It is just really dirty, but I am hoping that under the dirt it is clean. I am going to post a side by side with my Classic 78 to give people an idea of just how massive the Master is.
