I know this box has already been talked about a little, but what do you guys think a GOOD price for a black KRA2411 toolbox with a little ding in the bottom front panel and just the rubber top ? I almost had one for $900 but waited too long and it sold. Now theres one i'm looking at for $1200 but im not sure its a great price ?

I bought one that was pretty perfect and only a year old for $2000 about 2 years ago or so. At the time, that was a decent deal. It was off the truck and I made 4 or 5 payments on it before it was paid off. Dealer wouldn't have probably sold it that cheap (though a guy on CL probably would've), because he needed the room on the truck and wanted to turn over his investment.

I'd say $1200 is reasonable. But I'm seeing older KRL's for that price. And I'm in Los Angeles where things are sometimes higher.

The truck guys will tell you $900-$1200 is a "steal" but I'm seeing more and more boxes like this list on CL for about $1500. Don't know what the ultimate sell price is.

Saw a classic 96 at auction yesterday, about 1/4 full of Snap-On tools, sell for $2k with no buyer's premium. Auction was full of people and this was very early in the sale, and the only large box there, but there were plenty of other tools and at least 3-4 resellers present.

Guy who got it said he expected to sell for $1500. This was for a blue 3-bay in excellent condition in Central Florida. YMM, of course, V.

Ok, im really on the fence about this box. I talked him down to $1000 for the box but I will only be able to get it today since the guy is going out of town for a while. What do you guys think ? Spend $1000 on the kra or wait to find a better deal ?

If you have cash on hand go for it!

It is a minor ding on a toolbox....at that price for that box I would'nt even think twice. It's not like it's a ding on a classic Vette or something, that would be hard to live with....

$1,000 is a fair price. You are not getting ripped off at all at that and can most likley sell it for that without much hassle so if you like it...buy it. It is for the most part not money spent, but transfered to another asset. Money spent is the 3k in value you would have lost if purchased from the truck.
