Snap-on Classic 78: Drawer Slide Replacement?

I just picked up a like-new Snap-on Classic 78 (KRA2411) for a mere fraction of the cost of a new one.

However, one of the drawer slides on the wide 2" drawers is bent outwards and distorted. It looks like something got jammed in there and someone tried force the drawer shut. The drawer will open and close with constant pressure on it, but it doesn't really "slide" that well.

I see Snap-on has the replacement slides for $29.50. However, how do you replace the slides? Do you simply bend the visible tabs on the slides to remove it? Do you have to take the entire drawer out to replace one slide? Any advice would be appreciated before I start tearing things apart!

Remove the drawer first. The slides should come out of the box by first lifting up and then pulling them out. Its not that difficult of a process.

Hi Chad do KRL slides such as the KRL722 slides fit the KRA2411 drawers, if I wanted a heavier load rating?

Also the same goes for the handle to push the roll cab around, Will a KRL handle fit on KRA2411? I just got it and like to know what my options are. Thank you.

I think the slides may be a little bit thicker than the kra slides. I know they are heavier for sure. It will fit the drawer and may fir the box, but it may be too tight once they are in there. you never know it may work though. I have the krl722 on the truck and I will see if a can find a kra2411 later on today and compare the parts.

I very much doubt that you will be able to put the KRL slide in a Classic 78. The difference in thickness of the slides will not allow the drawer to fit.

Are the KRL handles and caster compatible with the KRA2411?

The only reason why I ask about the caster is that I put the brakes on, but the cab is still rolling on a small decline. I really have to step on it. Are there any adjustments to be made on the swivel casters, so it's not so hard to push down to lock the caster wheels? It's my first tool box..
