Snap-on Claw Hammer

I see that snap-on makes a claw hammer. I think it is $52. I'm fully aware that Klein and Eastwing make some incredible hammers, but for some reason, I'd love to see that Snap-on hammer in my toolbox. Anyone have it and does it pass the test?

And that five dollar harbor freight hammer is going to drive nails just as well unless you're a true believer. Then guess what if you do it long enough both of them are going to ruin your hands the carpal tunnel. No getting around that so use a nail gun when you can. Also when it comes to who is going to steal what they're going to leave that harbor freight hammer and take the expensive one every time. At least that's what my cop time told me.

A good Chinese made all steel hammer should be about $20 retail so that's one expensive Snap-On logo and lifetime warranty.

When I worked construction, 16 oz. hammers were called picture framing hammers.

Scarier part of this is that is is not BluePoint branded. This means we have to start checking all Snap On hard line for COO.

I personally hadn't seen CHN on the Snap On hard line tools yet...I am a bit out of touch with the industry though.

Just my two cents...$52.00 dollars for a good claw hammer is not expensive (ask me how I know this). Over $100.00 is getting up there in price but I bought mine on sale around $60.00 dollars and that sucker is not made out of steel.

Same thing with ironworkers; anything less than 8 pounds they kick you off the jobsite.

I am seeing a lot of stilettos on job sites lately. I used to laugh but after borrowing one there is a noticeable difference. I dont own one because I am not swinging a hammer all day. I was told the 14 oz ti hits like a normal 22 oz.

I look at it alot like tool truck brands. If you are using it all day everyday you'll get the benefit. If you are just harry homeowner you won't.

I wouldn't buy a hammer unless I can pick it up and take a couple practice swings first. I'd rather use a junk wrench than a poor hammer. I've never seen a snap on around construction sites so I'm a little skeptical of how good it is. Would love to hear some reviews though.

I've never seen a snap on, Mac, matco, cornwell, etc hammer on a construction site either.

And I would never expect to.

Ace hardware was downsizing a couple years back, i got a couple of nice framing hammers on clearance for like $6 each, originally like $40 each, vaughn 24oz i believe

That being said, I'm sure the only people who order Snap-on claw hammers are those with more money than common sense. You could take that $52 into a HD or Lowe's and get a quality Estwing or Vaughan made in USA hammer and have enough money left over for dinner.

I can't believe discussion on this overpriced pos hammer has gone this far. OP, buy a real hammer and move on. This thing is a novelty item, only there to do what it did to you, "a Snap-On...Claw...hammer?"

IDK about money left over for a dinner!!! My last 28 oz Eastwing was 42 dollars from a local lumber store, so it had about a 5 dollar markup. Unfortunately I needed it then, and I was already there. IDK if its just me, but I thank Eastwings aren't as great as they used to be. The comfort grip on the handles seem to come off alot easier.

I went and bought it, my driver had to special order it. He had never seen one. I'm thinking of leaving this review on Snap-on. Can someone check for spelling errors?

I bought it and am very happy! The handle grip is extremely comfortable and it looks **** in my hammer drawer. I actually used it two days ago and while I was using it the sleeves on my shirt fell off! WARNING!!! Do not let your wife use it! I let my daughter use it to hang a birdhouse and she grew a pair! I now have the son I always wanted! Thanks Snap-on!

If you spend all day swinging a hammer you'll quickly understand why the titanium hammers are well worth the price. For occasional use not so much.

I'm not sure their site is always up to date. I've seen more than one item on the website listed as Snap On but is actually Blue Point.

My father has one he actually ended up giving it to my mother to use in the house. Seems like an alright hammer but I would take an estwing first personally.
