Been a tech many years. Have some older comfort grip snap on ratchets that the grip is smaller in diameter. Have purchased some newer ones that the grip is much larger. I prefer the smaller grip and found some for sale on eBay. Can they be swapped? Is the Internal diameter still the same?

I would guess with a reasonable amount of confidence that the inside diameters are the same. It wouldn't make any sense for Snap-on to change the inside diameter unless they changed the outside diameter of the shank and I highly doubt they did.

I'd think as long as they're the same style ratchet (aka old ratchet and new grips both for Dual 80) then should be interchangeable

If you have a Dual 80 and bought new Cynergy grips, I don't know if they'd be the same inside diameter

someone posted a comparison picture in one of the SO 100 tooth threads and the new one didn't look significantly bigger than the 80T grip. Maybe 10%?

If they discontinued the old grips, then the new would have to be backwards compatible; if not, they'd have to give you a new $100++ ratchet when your $5-10 (their cost, mostly tooling amortization cost) grip was worn out. I wonder if the old tooling was at end of life? Because I'm guessing they're not making one grip at a time, probably 20+, so the molds are probably >$100k; they wouldn't just make a minimal change to replace perfectly good tooling.

The snap on comfort grip got slightly larger when they replaced the logo from the design found on the early comfort grip screwdrivers (and the current soft grip ratcheting screwdriver) to the current logo - I have a few of the older logo comfort soft grip handles on 3/8 and they are noticeably slimmer than the newer soft grip dual 80 ones.
