I have had a handful of the comfort grip handles in green backordered through my dealer for a few weeks. I called him today since he gets his orders on tuesday and thursday. He said he got a email from snap on about they are out and would possibly discountinuing them. Any of the dealers know whats going on or is my dealer trying to get rid of me cause I dont work in a shop and dont have a revolving account with him?

Discontinuing them in favor of what? They've got some of their ratchets out with hard handles, but I doubt they'd switch ALL of their ratchets over to hard handles again. :headscrat

I just had 3 ordered for me last week. Came in today. I made a deal that I would buy a 1/4" , 3/8" & 1/2" flex head ratchet set if they came in green. It was a joke he took it seriously... I love the new quick release 80 tooth stuff.

My dealer mentioned that they were discontinuing the comfort handles in all colors but red. But it may not be 100% correct.

I have always been a fan of plain chrome handles but recently my guy let me use a f80 and I loved it. So I started upgrading all my ratchets to 80 tooth models and found that I like the comfort grips. Hopefully they do not drop the greens cause that was the deciding factor to switch from standard handles.

Well, didn't they phase out the hard handled ratchets when they went to comfort grips? Maybe they're bringing all the hard handles back? going back to only red/black does seem like a logical theory thouugh.

Just out of curiosity I tried the handle numbers on the site and it is showing that the only handle in stock is the for the 3/8" in red, green and orange.. The 1/2 and 1/4 are gone. So if they are indeed phasing them out then they are almost done.

Hmm, It seems in the last few months everything is being available in green now. I know I've bought a set of radiator picks, screwdrivers, trim tools, files, ratchet set, pliers set w/ the green handled wire stripper/crimper, and a couple hammers and pry bars all in green. Wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to phase them out. I like the soft grip for some things but, the regular ratchets are required sometimes to fit into tight spots with clearance issues.

I don't know what you guys are doing but i just checked the site and all are showing in stock. 936-12g and 936-12O and the standard red, all in stock in all drive sizes.

The only thing I see different is the prices. They went up little $6, $10 and $12 now.
