All of Snap-on's air and battery powered tools are way overpriced IMHO. I have a Milwaukee 1/2" M18 hammer drill and haven't had any issues with it or doing any job.

I have both the m12 fuel drill and snap on 14.4 drill and I prefer the m12 with its 1/2 chuck vs 3/8 on snap on both are about the same size power defiantly goes to the m12

I cannot comment on 18v most of my drilling does not need a full size drill

I like my Milwaukee FUEL drills. Zero complaints and I abuse them with hole saws, etc. The M18 hammer drill will sink into a concrete wall at least as fast as any corded drill I have.

I don't own the DeWalt 20V max but I'm pretty sure it has a Rohm chuck. It looks fantastic. I'd definitely consider it, if I didn't have an investment in M12/M18.

The Milwaukee FUEL drills have OK chucks. Not great but I've never had a problem.

They aren't in the same league as the DeWalt/Rohm , though.

My Milwaukee M12 (non-FUEL) drill has the worst chuck I've ever used. It won't hold a bit and never wood, from new. There are tons of similar complaints but I've never heard anyone complain much about a chuck on a FUEL drill.

I have had a few Snap on drills I bought to sell and still have one I use for myself. All were purchased second hand and all worked great. The one I have was purchased at a pawn shop, was 8 months old when I bought it and cost me 75.00 out the door. If you end up with one I don't think you will be disappointed.
I have owned Milwaukee drills in the past, but not any of the fuels so cannot speak to those.

I'm happy with my 18v Snap-on. It's very powerful and the chuck is great. It's a little heavy but I use carbide hole saws to cut steel and it powers right through. I picked it up off eBay, the new price was too much for me.

I have the snapon cdr8850h 1/2 and cdr761a 3/8. Compared to my new dewalt 20v 1/2" and my bosch 18v 1/2" . The Snapon is much more powerful. Handles large hole saws without trouble. The bosch and dewalt feel like they want to split appart.

I have a snap on drill, but for the money I would go with the Milwaukee fuel any day hands down. I am trying to sell my drill because I like the Milwaukee so much better and for the money I spent on the SO I could buy more batteries for the milwaukee

In my experience the SO electric stuff is no better and often not as good as good brand name tools from other manufacturers. I personally like Bosh and Makita.

I have the CDR761 3/8 SO drill and the 8850H 1/2 drill.

I bought them as i already have the batteries to match so it makes sense to use the system.

The 8850 is a beast, i use it with large drills for chassis mods etc and it's great. Quality is great too.

The little 761 is great for smaller stuff in tight spaces.

I haven't ever used Milwaukee stuff, my co-worker has Milwaukee stuff and i have to say my SO stuff has it beat at all times power wise (cordless impact gun etc etc)

Have you tried the brushless line from either DeWALT or Milwaukee?

I have an older Milwaukee M18, It was a higher torque model that the chain stores did not sell (Kit #2611-24). I think it is now equal to the brushless fuel model. This drill has enough torque for anything I have tried drilling (1" in steel with a twist drill, and larger with hole saws). This drill will snap your wrist if you are not careful.

I have switched to using one of the M12 1/2" drills now, as it will do everything I need and does it with less weight.

I find it curious that you say your main problem is when you are drilling out bolts. Unless you are talking about 1" bolts I have a hard time believing any properly functioning drill would have an issue with that task.

BTW- The Dewalt Max 20V is only an 18 volt battery, same size and number of battery cells inside as the Milwaukee.

I am satisfied with my 10mm cordless drill. It is very compact and balanced in the hand. It looks very clean and smooth as well.

After using it for a while I concluded that the batteries will likely fail around the same time as the brushes. This was one reason I didn't go with brush-less right now as the torque is highly desirable for me.

The cost isn't competitive with the rest of the market (but Snap-On never is).

Yeah it feels like when I'm Drilling it takes forever, my dewalt will eventually drill through the bolt but I'm looking for something with a better more powerful drilling power, I use really good drill bits which are correct for what I'm drilling and you the cutting paste that goes with the drill bit
