SNAP-ON COUNSELOR II mt3000 TROUBLE SHOOTING

I just bought the tool. It generally works but none of the waveforms show. The internal diagnostics failed both the Analogue board and the Input digital board. Any thoughts on an approach before I open the cover and start hunting for the problem?
