Snap on ct4410 repair

I have just been offered a used snap on ct4410 3/8" cordless impact gun by my local snap on rep, I have it on a weeks trial as he said it was a bit weak. I have tested it today and it will only loosen bolts up to 60Nm. I would give it back, but he is only asking £50 (good condition, two batteries, charger & case)
Has anyone stripped and repaired one of these? What would cause a lack of performance? It may be worth £50 and then get it repaired by snap on, but I would like to fix it myself.

Thanks

Rich

I have had mine for about five years with hard daily use. For about the last six months it has been noticeably doggy. For $125 I sent mine in for a complete rebuild. It's like brand new now. As for why they get weak, I have never gotten a strait answer from anyone. Some will say the brushes in the motor get worn making the motor weak. Others say the impact innereds get worn that it doesn't hit as hard. All I know is mine has completely brand new guts in it.

I sent mine in when it lost power. It was still under warranty at the time but I believe Snap -On has a flat rate repair price for their air/battery tools. Somewhere in the $130 range.

*EDIT*

Bobcatdan beat me to it.

I just ordered a new CT8810G and my dealer is giving me $150 credit for my 4410. Which is about what they seem to go for online.
