snap on ct6850 vs dewalt dw059

anybody have experiecne with these impacts ?
i am sure both are good tools but the snap on is rated at 400 lb ft vs 300 lb ft for the dewalt.
is the snap on tool that much stronger?
how about 18v snap on battery life?
i know the dewalt gun is at least $100.00 cheaper

There are numerous people on here with the Snap-on gun. I sell a bunch of them. I actually sell more cordless impacts than I do air. I rarely if ever hear any negative feedback about the CT6850.

The Dewalt is much cheaper ($194 at HD right now if you can find it) compare to Snap On's $400+. Unfortunately the Dewalt is also much weaker. Okay to crank a few lug nuts loose. Probably not good on axle nuts or Honda crankshaft bolts.

my snap on dealer says that he has no problems with them either but i have heard storiies of battery issues. i have always had good luck with my dewalt 18 volt tools
but i am also concerned about the power. i have no problem spending a little more or much more as longer as the results are there. it would be used on a daily basis.

i have right now three of the 6850's,one at work,one in my shop and one i carry in the service truck.the one at work is over 6years old and is still great.i've tried dewalts,makita's,ect.and the s.o. is by far the hardest hitting,toughest gun out of the bunch.and as for the battery life ,the one i use everyday at work ,i change out the battery about once a week.

I have the CT4850HO and someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only difference is that the CT6850 comes with the new charger capable of charging the Lithium Ion batteries.

I did a lot of research on this and looked at the Dewalt impact also. I went to Lowes to get a feel of the dewalt and I think it was bulkier to deal with. The forward and revers button also bothered me because it didn't feel good on the hand if you had to work in tight spots. If your only intention is to take lugs nuts off then the Dewalt will give you the best return on investment or even the Great Neck series you can find at Pep Boys. I think Northern tools sells a 24 volt impact rated at 210 lbs If your looking for something to work on cars with then I'd spend the extra and get the Snap On.

My CT4850HO has a lot of balls and can easily take up lug nuts and anything else I have used it for. Its a little more compact than the Dewalt also.

If you don't want to spend that much I have heard good things about the Milwaukee M18 impact. Its for sale on Amazon for something like $339 with two lithium batteries and is rated at I believe 450 lbs which is over the SO rated at 400 lbs.

I don't normally splurge on a brand name but I decided that the SO was worth the price.

If you use it on a regular basis get the Snap On or Ingersoll Rand or Matco. I own the Ingersoll Rand and played with the Snap On but have no experience with Matco but word of mouth that they are good.

Get two dewalts for what the "slap on" costs. I use dewalt's and they are tough. I already have a ton of dewalt 18 volt batteries laying all around so I just bought the bare tool off amazon for $100.00. Bought three more since then and I love them. Dewalt makes good stuff. But i'm sure whoever makes the snap on makes a pretty good tool too... be nice to find out who does so we could buy from them and not have to pay 500% more for the snap on name.

As a (former) tow truck driver i had/have a s/o ct 4850 i used DAILY tons and tons of power i'ld charge it like every 3 days due tire changes take scrap cars apart remove wheels i have to tell you i never had a problem UNTIL I dropped it outta the cab of my truck my problem not s/o' i cracked the battery and it never worked the same since really a super gun

where i work now they have the dewalts not as powerful but still capable

depending on your use and price range is where i would determine what io am looking for

alot of techs GORILLA tires on the s/o handles it while lesser brands give up and out

i have used i/r matco and some others

i'ld rank the matco/so at the top then the i/r my goodyear my brothers makita then the dewalt just my experience for waht it's worth

I have never had any problems with any Snap On power tools. I buy a new impact gun every 4 years. And seeing that The Snap On CT6855 has more power and it is made in the USA I would get the Snap On CT6855.

I own the Dewalt 1/2 cordless not sure what the number is,and I am very happy with it.
I think the man at lowes gave me a fair deal,he told me that a lot of the tools get stolen and he had the 1/2 without a battery or case still on the display table.
He told me I could have for 98.00 dollars plus tax;I have a few extra batteries plus a charger already at home just not the case.

Again I am very happy with it and I think I got a good deal on a brand new tool.
