I owned one for a few weeks. It's the only tool i regret buying in the last two years. I own a mg325 as well though. I just didn't think it was that strong.

8850 is brand new and shouldnt be confused with the compact 3/8 ct8810 since they're entirely different impacts. I haven't even seen one yet.

yeah,i have one for the week also.and yes it is more powerful than the 7850,at 700 foot lbs of initial torque and then 600 foot pounds of working torque.very impressive for a cordless tool.but it has the same flaws as the 7850,which I own,it is to heavy and it is not balanced, with a large socket on it will fall over and even without a large socket on it,it falls over very easily.i am going to pass on the 8850,sell my new 7850 and just keep using my 4850,it's the best cordless they've ever made in my opinion, plus I can have it rebuilt for 90 bucks flate rate.

Snap on guy had one on his truck yesterday an he let one of my coworkers try it out. It does have more power than the 7850 but definitely not as strong as Milwaukee 2763 or IR 7150. Also its way too expensive

Looks like there is a race to see who can reach the $1000 price tag. Lol

I have a ct7850 and I've never been overly impressed by its power. The micro processor delay is also annoying when you're trying to just blip the trigger on delicate work.

If the new gun is stout and reliable I almost don't care what it costs. But it has to be good.

Delicate work? That's like complaining about a sledge being a poor jewelers hammer.

You know what I mean, delicate was the wrong word. How about fine control. Like when you're trying to just seat a bolt a little more or just snug up something

I wish the 7850 was a sledge hammer. All too often it turns out to be a claw hammer and I have to make the walk of shame to my box to get the air gun.

Im not a fan of the computer delay either but you can make it do what you want by teasing the trigger, push it to the point where the light goes on and that does the batt check and removes the delay before impacting. My 8810 is better on the delay than the 7150 I handled some time ago so they've probably updated the electronics as well, if not in the latest 7150s then certainly in the 8850.

The CT8810 is an impressive tool. Pound for pound it has exceeded my expectations. The delay is there like you say but it's minimal. Its light , fast, strong and has all week runtime. I just wish the CT7850 was as impressive.

CT7850 is a horrible gun to use. The delay is what triggered (no pun intended) me to sell the damn thing. I don't see why Snap On had to downgrade the trigger from their old CT6850 gun.

My bad in my post i confused the 8850 with the 8810. What's the specs on the 8850 vs the 7850. I like my 7850 for just tire work and simple tasks but it's about to run out of warranty and it's already been in for a new motor once. If i can fetch the right trade in price i might upgrade.

Still got the 6850 and pretty happy with it. Just had the batteries redone and the gun rebuilt after 5 hard years of use. However Im buying the milwaukee fuel next, already got the drill and impact driver so might as well. 6850 is still a good gun but its dated and had I not just got the deal on the milwaukee stuff Id have not had it redone.

Im not a fan of the newer snap on guns with the lith battery, for whatever reason they seem to have issues according to a snap on driver buddy of mine. Plus for the price omg they are crazy. When the snap on gun was basically it the price was worth it..not anymore!

Yes the delay on the 7850 takes getting used to. I only use it for wheels so the weight doesn't bother me. I never had a situation where the gun couldn't undo something. It is a heavy gun, but my mg725 isn't light either. I think it's all about preference and the individual user.

Every couple of years something new and better will come out. You just need to decide how much you want to pay to jump on board. I remember my friends going crazy about the 18v nicad...then the lithium came out...now something else is coming.

I had a ct6850 I bought from a guy with battery and charger and case for $60 and it works great but he just sold me this ct7850 with battery for $60 and I'm thinking of selling my ct6850. The guy I get them from he gets them from companies that take in trade in's and wait til they have a truck load and call him and he comes and pays them and gets them in and cleans them up. I've gotten Milwaukee, Dewalt all the major brands. I think I should sell the 6850 and buy a charger for the 7850. I believe both have around 450 ft lbs of torque but 7850 is lithium. What do you think?
