I know, resurrecting an old thread. But instead of starting a new one, I want to say I use Kroil to break in my Snap-On pliers and it works great. Kroil is one of the thinnest penetrating lubricants and can easily get into even the tight fitting Snap-On joint and free them up to the buttery smooth action with zero play you expect from a Snap-On wrench.

ATF is perhaps the most advanced lubricant on the planet. Thin enough to get into anything and hangs around after it gets there. It's what I use on sealed head ratchets. I dunk the heads into Dexron VI for a day and it works it's magic. Think about the abuse it takes in it's normal service in a car and you'll understand why it works as well as it does for other things as well. Even manual transmissions use the stuff now that's how tough it is.

^ The MMO worked fine. So did the "3 in 1" oil. Can of Kroil never had to be used, believe it or not.
I do think I used a shot of Kroil on the loppers I found out in the yard there.

Kroil use to be my go to. And then the new owners of the company doubled the price and that pissed me off enough to look around and find something else. Project Farm did a series on penetrating oils and found that good old Liquid Wrench was the king of the hill. The only difference I've seen between the two is the price with the Kroil being three times as much.
