I have some older combination wrenches I just picked up with the underline'd Snap On logo. Either I'm not looking hard enough or there is no date code stamped on them. Anyone know how I can tell how old they are (or where I should be looking for that date stamp)?

I have this old SnapOn ratchet with the following on it;

FV71M Snap-on USA

I don't see anything that would relate to the chart? Any info?

Thank you for the chart post. I have a few sockets I am attempting to date and searching turned up this thread.

I have a 3/8 set and can't find a date mark on any of the pieces. All of the sockets have PAT.NO. 3273430
It is the older pre-metric master set with shallow and deep sockets, speeder, breaker, t-bar, ratchet, swivel and extensions in a red plastic tray. Any idea on age and what to ask for it?

Can someone clarify this: I looked at this chart (at the top of this thread) and the 1966 mark is a 6 looking 6. The chart here has the 6 as a lower case b (but squared) the wrenches in my box have the lower case b. Were there 2 stamps in any year other than 86? There is no stamp at all on the chart at the top of the post that looks like a square lower case b. (at least that MY eyes can see)

BTW, until I stumbled across this site, I didn't spend sat night researching wrenches...... You guys are baaaaaaaad. Just Sayin'!

One of the Williams sockets I just bought has the 2015 Snap-on date code on it...

That chart can't be right. Everything after 2010 will probably have Chinese characters :evil:

Wait a minute, 2018 looks like a rice bowl.

Yep i stopped buying new snappy 4year ish ago, now i look through the small ads for decent snapon stuff.
Shame

Today I came across my dad's old Snap-on Midget GM-70M but I can't see a date code anywhere. Don't all SO ratchets have date codes?
