Snap on date code help

I am pretty sure I have seen this answer here in the past, but I have spent hours trying to search for it again with no luck. If anyone can point me in the direction of the answer, it would be appreciated.

I recently picked up a Snap On KRL 1056C roll cab. How can I tell which year it was made? Is there a way to decode the manufacturing sticker?

Any help would be great.

Sorry this is a date code for hand tools. My snap on tool box has a date on the back.

Some Snap-On toolboxes don't have dates stamped into them for whatever reason. The best you can do is look up the toolbox part number itself, and see what years it was manufactured. That coupled with what style of Snap-On logo/badge it has will give you a rough approximation of age. Www.collectingsnapon.com has a plethora of information to help you in this regard.

Do you have a Pic of the manufacturer sticker on the the box?

If it's like their air and cordless tools, then the first 4 digits tell the story. First two are the year and last two are the week of that year. Example- 1428 would be 28th week of 2014

I do not have a pic handy, but will see if I can get one. The sticker has the model number, serial #, and a 9 digit code on the bottom right hand corner, but it does not make sense with what I have seen from Snap On to this point.

That number would be 2010.

All you have to do is go to the Snap on web site and click on the customer service. send them a message with the info on your manufacturer sticker and they should be able to help you out. Thats what I did with the above serial number and received an email back in about 5 minutes. I hope this helps. If you want me to do it the pm me the info on the sticker if you want.

Ok if I am reading this the right way you are reading the sticker on the back of the tool box.

But getting back to the air tools am I to read the serial number to get a date code ???

Yes, first 4 digits .

I sent a the serial number via message to Snap on customer service online and that is the year they emailed me back with.

Yeah I get that part. Thank you for helping to answer the question, it is appreciated. But what I am trying to understand is how they code it. There has to be some order to the numbering configuration. If I can understand how they do this, I can figure things out for myself without having to send them an email all the time. I plan to add onto this box and would like to know what year the added pieces were made when I go to purchase them. Maybe I am too **** about my tools and such, but for the price you have to pay to play, I make sure I know as much as I can about them when I own them.

If P0 stand for 2010, then I would have to assume:

Q1 = 2011
R2 = 2012
S3 = 2013

And so on and so forth. Sound right? Can anyone confirm?
