Snap-On date codes

I performed a search on GJ and came up empty. Does Snap-On put date codes on their toolboxes?

On my older box it has 57 stamped after the model stamp. Don`t know about the newer ones but someone here will tell you

Most boxes from the mid 50s on, have a two digit date stamped on the back.

Except the ones from Canada, apparently...

But those will have a sticker (under one of the drawers, probably) that will show the date of manufacture.

I assumed the two number code on my box was the date of manufacture, but I wanted to be sure. You know what they say, "Assumption is the mother of all f-ups." Thank-you Snapmom!

it is embedded in the serial number now. I cant remember how to read it though....
