I have a small shop in the Kemah/Houston, TX area (77565) and am starting to see more and more troubleshooting jobs come in. We specialize in street cars and light duty Diesels, but are starting to broaden our reach into "regular" vehicle maintenance because of the slowing economy.

Long story short.... I'm in the market for a Snap-On Solus Pro with current software. I've done some reading and it seems that this unit will fit our needs and budget quite well.

I have tried to get the local Snap-On dealer to drop by and talk about the purchase of one to no avail. I by no means will be a money pig, but do know what I want and would like to purchase... This is by no means a rant focused at my local dealer by any stretch of the imagination. I just need to get a scanner in hand asap. I understand that there are many local shops that are larger than we are and that I'm the low man on the totem pole, but I need a scanner all the same.

Dealers... Is there anyone here that is "Local" to me that wants to talk to me about the Solus? Or is that frowned upon? In essence, where do I go from here?

Thanks
Stan

What information are you needing?
1.How much with current software?
2.Is it possible to purchase from a dealer other than my local rep? I "know" there are licensing issues. If I were to purchase from someone else other than the local guy, who supports it? Updates it? Warranties it?

sounds like he wants to try one out and see what it hooks up to.

I'm hoping it'll "hook" up to everything.

Lol HF already gets enough of my money. Plus, my Chinese OBDII reader and fluke just are not cutting it anymore.

Thanks! A Snap-On guy not being there for his customers seems counterproductive to me.. Maybe Snap-On sells money trees to their Reps.
