Greetings all.

Long time reader, finally signed up.

Just poking around to see what advice i can gather. Im currently working a pro LSX/Euro car tuning shop. And in the past year my SP Box (40x19) roll cab and small top chest are now full. These are very similiar to a torin box you guys have. Its an import and i bought it when i was 19.

Now space is tight in my shop so a KRL 1023 is out of the question. And always wanting a snap on box i forked out for a brand new KRA4813 roll cab and 4810 top chest in royal blue. Well its been 3 months now and absolutely no sign of my tool boxes. Ive tried contacting snapon aus but they just keep telling me that ill have them soon. On my last email the part no. of my top chest was different to what i initially ordered im now a tad worried im going to get mismatched tool boxes.

What should i do, my snapon dealer is awesome and has looked after me very well but handing over alot of money for no reason is getting on my nerves :confused:

Any thoughts and tips greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when i ordered my KRL722 and KRL791, i ordered in september last year and was told delivery by christmas and it never come, in the end it was delivered at the end of march this year. I think mine was due to me ordering a rare colour and it having to be built for me and shipped here to the UK. I suspect your boxes would be on a boat form the states. snap on are useless for giving delivery dates which i found a bit of a joke.

Probably the reason for the delay is the fact that Snap-on recently closed the Newmarket manufacturing plant that used to make the KRA line and they have moved the production to the Algona, Iowa plant. I am also willing to bet that the different part numbers are the suffix after the 4810 and 4813. You probably originally ordered a KRA4813DPCM and a KRA4810DPCM. Those have been superceded to a KRA4813FPCM and KRA4810FPCM. The difference denotes the place of manufacture. You do need to verify with your dealer/Snap-on that both boxes that you are going to receive are of the "F" series. The boxes that are being made in Algona have square corners and the older boxes from Newmarket have rounded front corners.

You need to let your dealer know about the difference in the 2 units that are enroute. He may not know that the newer units are square corners vs. rounded corners. You are just a victim of bad timing. I am sure that they will get you a matching set. Its just going to be a matter of cancelling the order on the roll cab and re-ordering one of the newer ones.

Thanx chadster, I'll speak to him when he pops in this week. He seemed pretty pissed on the phone over the whole ordeal. Just dissapointing since I've waited this long. All your help is greatly appreciated. I'll post some pics up when I get it.

just a simple computer error and if the dealer does not know to ask then he/she will never know

I ordered a kra2422pjj back in august still havent gotten it. Said the build date was Oct 2 and i was told monday by my dealer it would be shipped the 10th. Called today and SO says it wont ship until the 28th! Crazy to think it takes 3 weeks to crate and ship it. Mean while Ive been making payments for 2 months on something I dont have. I was told this was a new style box with 2 full length drawers and it was on special for august. Is it normal to offer a box for which they have no inventory on to fill orders?

that box was really popular and was not released until this month. so be patient on that one. snap on has sold so many boxes this year it is not funny. I have lost count this year.

I cant complain after financing I paid less than msrp so Im happy so far. Just thought it was crazy that it would be three weeks to ship it. I just need more space to buy/store more tools. I told the customer service guy that and he started laughing.

Thanks for the response
