just so everyone knows this is industrial only and even I cannot order from this book. ALso it is against Industrial regulations for the people that can order from this catalog to turn around and sell the tools to someone else.

what do you mean? Are they not available or different than the normal stuff? They are sold direct vs truck right? That would mean better costs I would think>?
What regulation says you can not buy what you want? that would be price fixing and un fair trade. Once you bought it you can do what you want with it right? Or do the tool police come over LOL
Just trying to understand what SN is up to.
they had a retail shop here it closed, nice to go in get what you wanted. In my area the dealer are rotating in and out a lot- I live in a depressed area. We used to make stuff now we dont

this catalog is not available to the general public. industrial is a whole different side of the Snap On world. I cant buy some of these tools. you can say that you can buy whatever you want, but unless if you have a government credit card or a national account then this stuff is off limits. Now 90 percent of these tools are regular tools and YES you can buy them, but not in these kits or set up in the precut foam like this.
you sound so damn angry, i guess you must have had a bad day.
anyways i would have loved to see a retail shop. we aksed if we could open one up here and they told us hell no. you were lucky to see one of these shops.

too many people could skip out on their dealer and go buy from the store. this keeps the dealer with a certain amount of possible customers.

You might have heard of the dealer who was in Laredo that had his own store. When I worked in Laredo, he gave me a Mexican name and address so I didn't have to pay TX sales tax. ( I have heard that his son took over the route)

When Snap on had the distribution center in Shertz, you could buy retail there also.

I would love to have those cases they use for the aviation tools.
the army gets rid of them every now and then when they come back from iraq/afganistan and they guys that work there literally run to the spot where they are sitting.
I scored two of them and use them for gun cases. Pelican cases. water and air tight.

Since you sell on Ft. Hood, does the industrial representative make his rounds there also?

At one time I had thought about getting some more OX/RX series wrenches, but they have not been listed in the last couple of automotive catalogs, and I find it hard to believe that Snap on dropped them completely.

Why would Snap on not allow any dealer to sell all its products? Even if they required such sales to be special order only, there are some products that could be used in both the automotive and industrial world. The wrenches I mentioned are one such example, but now are unavailable to ag and heavy equipment mechanics.

most of the items are for military use, and the military is taken by the govt rep out here on fort hood. They cant buy from me, or I could get hammered for it. individuals cannot buy from the govt rep/industrial rep(for personal use) or he gets fired.
Occasionally I need a few of the tools for the contractors, but they just borrow it from the army. so there is not much of a need for the special tools that are in the book...
the govt rep is a good friend of mine and he says the govt is buying tools like there will be no more ever again. hundreds of thousands of dollars monthly....

this catalog is not available to the general public.

What do you mean it's not available to the general public? Just google "snap on industrial" and it's the second link.

At least I think that's the one that was linked in the OP.

you can not order the tool sets out of this book.
If I could I would, but even as a dealer my requests get denied. as my posts said earlier govt/industrial only.
also it is similar to what the students get to purchase from, but some of their stuff is limited now and then. some schools only allow them to buy sets.
i am the general public and I cant purchase this stuff. nothing else need to be said about it.

That's not the same as the catalog not being available to the public. The catalog is freely available, you just can't order from it. Some people might like to look through it anyway, though.

Not sure who told frimann to remove the link, nor why.

It was removed to keep everyone in the world from bugging their dealers about this same thing that's going on here. why cant i get that stuff is all they would hear all day long.
I do not like to be blind sided by things such as this. Just like the cheap snap on stuff at ace hardware. that was a big shock when a customer told me about that.
you can look all day long. just cant touch. thats what my wife says anyways lol

So you mean to tell me you can't get me the unobtanium wrench on page 32? Shucks. :)

I see your point. Then again, all it would take would be a warning below the link saying you can't get it unless you meet such and such criteria.

I was frustrated at the loss of the retail. It was a real nice set up. As for the limited access to the other tools I would only ask why? What makes them so special and why is it limited to the government only buyers. Could it be the pricing? $500 hammers?
It is true I don't like limited access to anything I also do not write as well as I speak. My skills are verbal not written so I often am miss read when I type my thoughts.
would also like to find a great SO dealer near by. I bought a lot of stuff from an old dealer who did it for 30 years he knew his tools and was a gentleman all the way.
New guys seem to be motivated by sales and in a bit of a hurry- not saying all just my local dudes.
Long winded quick reply. Still like to know why SO will not let you get those tools

Most of the Industrial Catalog is just out sourced tools. You can buy at a aircraft tool supplier.
