Snap On Docker Locker

Anyone have a KRL1018 locker with the roll cart stored inside? Do you find it useful or would you go with a regular locker if you could do it again?

I'm interested in lockers and I like using small carts to hold tools/parts close to the work area. Is the Docker Locker the best combination of both worlds?

$2,500 bucks that is alot of luv for that type of simple cart. nothing against the locker or the cart but those simple snappy carts are like maybe $300 bucks on CL.

For 2500 you can get a sweet lockable snap on cart like a krsc46. The obvious difference being that takes up a bigger footprint, so if it means knocking down walls and building an extension or something then thats gonna cost alot too.

In a pro environment maybe the logic is security in a small space? Unless you are working in some kind of situation that would warrant that extravagance I would maybe look at a more secure type of cart to begin with.

I already have a KRSC46 cart. I have been using it along with a Proto main box. I'm replacing the Proto with a KRL1022. This is for home use so I feel like I could consolidate and get everything I need in one reasonable size footprint (1022 plus Locker). It would be hard for me to part with my 40" cart. I really love that thing.

Edit to add: I have a lead on a Craigslist Docker Locker. At $2500 it wouldn't e worth it to me.

seems like when the locker dockers were introduced, there werent too many closed top/lockable carts available. i could see the need to secure and lock up an open top cart.
i used open top carts for many years, but after i found several of my large wrenches laying by the back door of our shop, i started locking EVERYTHING up every night, and took the cart home...

i found out who the culprit was.... his world came crashing down on him after i reported it to the owner of the company...

he didnt last long after that
