Snap on double date code?

Has any one else seen a snap on tool with two date codes?

the date codes are 1955 and 1956 I wonder why two date codes?

Yes I have and it's on a set of screwdriver bit sockets just like what you have pictured. A friends retired father gave them to me. He bought them new in the mid 50s and said the dealer hand stamped the date code on the tool at the time of sale because at the time those bit sockets had a one year warranty. Look close, one stamp is factory and the other is a lighter hand stamping. One representing manufacture date and the other the sale date for warranty.

Hey man I've got a 1/2" Dr. 1/2" Snap- On socket with 2 date codes. I'm glad u asked about it because that's the first one I've came across. Thanks
