Looking for the tool from Snap-On that releases the old friction type drawers - saw it on their website but can't seem to find it now.

Anyone got the part # for it?

You can use a hacksaw blade. All you do is grind off the teeth and bend one end to 90 degrees to give yourself something to pull with.

Snap-on removal tool: 0.016” thick
hacksaw blade without teeth: 0.024” thick

i find the Snap-on tool works better.

Alt solution: buy two 12” long 0.016” steel feeler gauges from an industrial supply house.

I think you have all the info needed above but just wanted to add you can remove the drawers without the actual or equivalent tool by prying the clips at end of slides with a flat screwdriver or similar and pushing the inner end down to keep the end out of the slot in the slide. Obviously need to do both sides. Just lift them up and they snap right back into place when you put the drawer back in.

The large wiper blades on transit buses and big trucks have stainless steel stiffeners inside the rubber. The stiffeners pulls out easily. It was a shame to discard these stainless strips so they collected in a barrel. They were free to employees. I have made a few handy tool from these stainless pieces, including a tiny inspection mirror and many drawer release tools that I gave away.

There are only about 7 or 8 threads on this topic, each including several options, including using the bar from Pendaflex hanging file folders

This is the tool that came with the units to remove the drawers there were two per unit. There is no part number, marking or even SO name on them.
