Snap on Drill Bits..

I've needed a GOOD set of drill bits and have been thinking about the Snap on ones... Part #DBTB129 or DBTR129 in particular. Just wondering if anybody has used them.. like them a lot or thought they were overpriced. DBTR129 has a 3 flat shank.. what does that mean??


I plan on using them for everything.. in a drill press.. drill broken bolts out.. for metal.. wood.. you name it.

The shank of the bit is flattened on 3 sides so the chuck grips it better and it doesn't slip. Works best in chucks that can only be tightened by hand.

I would not recommend the SO drill bits. We has some at work and they were junk. Go to MSC and get some good ones.

I was looking at those as well but decided to go with the Mac Cobalt bits. Mainly because the Mac guy is the only one who seems to warranty broken bits. The case they come in is pretty cool too.

They are made by norseman, can be had for about half the price from them.

I bought the Norseman cobalt set from Harry Epstein because of the recommendation in the last drill bit thread about a month or two ago,and was really pleased with the, prices,and fast shipping.They work great.

Way better prices than the Fastenal down the street,and the no sales tax paid for the shipping pretty much.
