I was looking at upgrading a 1/2 "drill and I was looking at the Cdr8850 Snap on hammer drill or Makita 18v LXT hammer drill.

A big question I have is in the snap on specs they list the torque at 450 foot pounds.? Is that really accurate or a misprint?

I have batteries for both so that's not an issue. I don't drill all that often but now that I've said that I'll need to drill for several weeks straight now. (How it goes) lol.

Thoughts...particularly about that torque listing.

The Makita is listed at 1,090 inch pounds. To convert what snap on is listing theirs at would mean it's at 5,400 inch pounds!?!?

Something seems off

Yeah, it's a misprint. It also lists 50.9 newton meters, which converts to 450 inch pounds.

Go for the Makita. No contest.

Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, or any other brand that actually specializes in making cordless tools. Snap on cordless tools are overpriced.

The Makita XPH07 is a beast! I've used mine with 4" hole saws and mixing cement. No problems, but you better use the extension handle so you can hang on to it!
$139 for the bare tool or $235 with 4Ahr batteries and charger.

Snap-Off makes wrenches. Makita makes power tools. I'm a Milwaukee man myself but Makita is excellent as well.

450 inlbs of torque on a 18V hammerdrill is not very much. Most any basic brushed M18 drill has that. My Milwaukee 2607 is rated at 500 and the M12 Fuel comes close @ 350

The M18 FUEL Hammer drill is 1200inlbs
