Be advised, Snap-on does not **** around when it comes to hand tools. Elroy was sold on them 35 years ago and here they are bringing another innovation to the market. Ya their service can **** at times but generally speaking they have their shat together.

Elroy is all ears to hear all the cuts. Come on, lets hear how crappy they are.

STOP, TURN, LISTEN

Ice Ice baby!

I love snap on tools, but their marketing video's are so over dramatic.

Im waiting for the stubby version. I have the standard F80, and I love it, however, I use the stubby ratchet a lot in the work I do, and can not wait until this one is available in the Dual 80 format.

The new catalog (got it last week from my dealer) has all of the new dual 80 sockets in it, not all are out. It has all of the 1/4, 3/8, and even the 1/2 in dual 80. My dealer has the stndard 1/4 and several of the 3/8 in dual 80, but the 1/2 haven't shown up yet.

Basically they were talking about how SO has the most teeth, and with a SO socket, the lowest socket-ratchet profile on the market. They also talked about how it has very low ratcheting torque (it doesn't and it's great) As you can see I made a comment that a Matco-SO socket combo would be ideal for low-profileness

I am completely lusting over these series of ratchets, and my F80 that I purchased on ebay hasn't even arrived yet.

Does anybody have the FKF80 (stubby flex), and if so, can you post up a picture?

I'm considering getting the FKF80, and the FX80 and/or the FLF80.

Snap on should have that video on their website instead of that stupid one about the instinct screwdrivers. They would sell alot more F80 series ratchets.

Off topic, but...

We watch a fair amount of shows in closed caption, because we don't want the kids hearing the language. Sopranos, Deadwood, etc.
I cannot believe the amount of products that don't advertise with CC. Most of the shows have very poor CC too. Sports especially.

Sorry, continue.

why you need standard ratchet while you can have long handle ratchet FL80??? i am almost never use standard ratchet... i am big fan of long handle ratchets and stubby ratchets...

I like to use the standard length ones whenever possible, but you are right... if the Snap On FLF80 isn't floppy, I may really need to give that a try. I wonder if my Snap On dealer will give me anything on trade for my MAC XR11F floppy hear ratchet????

So what are the part numbers for all the Dual 80 ratchets that are currently available? My Snap-on industrial rep is clueless unless you supply him with part numbers.

Thanks in advance for the help.

What I don't understand is, why did they stop it at 283 ft lbs? I think it's because it breaks soon after that, they just want you to think it could go well over 300.

My answer to the FKF80 is to buy a used Crafty flex head for a few bucks then cut and grind the handle to the desired length! Yup, I will still get the job done just as well. While not good enough for a pro I agree, it will serve my purposes just fine!

Plus it just appeals to the skin flint in me!

I bought the long-handle, flex head, Dual 80 at a car show. $99 I think.

Fantastic tool! NICE in tight places, you don't have to keep a finger on the socket, to ratchet-back.

I can't tell exactly from the video, but the ratchet should have broken at 283 ft lbs. When the sensor detects a drop in the torque, from cracking, bending, or gear wheel slipping, the machine displays the highest torque reached to that point.

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know if the Duel 80 ratchets are using a different lube from the 936 series? I'm thinking with the finer teeth, maybe an oil would be better than a grease. :headscrat

I bought the FLF80 a few months ago. It was my very first SO purchase. I can't tell you how much I enjoy using it. I like that stubby version too, that may be SO purchase #2!

I think it works fine if you don't open it, too

Craftsman makes a stubby flex ratchet already. No assembly required!

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...&sName=Ratchets&filter=Ratchet+Type|Flex+head

I started thinking about that postof mine last night while I was in the shop using my Crafty 3/8" flex head and I concluded that my original statement was rather ignorant because if I altered the flex head I was using as I had described I do not think I would be very fond of the butchered tool, nor would it be one I would likely use. In conclusion I agree with you, if I want that type of ratchet I will buy the one you displayed! As a home shop guy I still cannot justify Snap-on cost for home use these days while I do enjoy using their products.

They are coming with grease in them, a clearish yellowish gease like a general purpose grease.
