Any opinions on the SO ECF990 flashlights? Ive been considering an upgrade but not sure Im willing to spend anything like this amount.

I do have one SO flashlight , and old Kershaw (?) version of a Mag incandescent that I bought years back before LED was a thing. Its been a good light but I havent used it in years, too dim.

I havent seen a single mention on GJ about them other than a single for sale add, which seems a little weird considering TBH.

A diesel mechanic on YT I watch, has a well worn one he seems to like, but Ive never seen one on the truck or in any shops Ive worked in. The Canadian SO website doesnt show it either. I guess were too cheap here for a $350cad flashlight:rocker:

Truth be told, if I was to go to a "premium" rechargable flashlight, Id likely pass on the SO one and go for a Streamlight Strion HL or Stinger HL, for less money and made in USA (Seriously Snap on , why China for this light??) but im curious if anyone has one and if they ever come on sale.

Guy I worked with had one. I liked it it was well built. Everyone and their brothers have stream lights so it was something different.

Ya everybody I know and work with has some version of a Pelican, MAGled or Streamlight or Coast.

I use AA MagLED and Pelican Stealthlight myself.

According to the their web site, the Snap-on light is made in China.

It's a bit brighter than the (US made) Mini Maglite PRO LED, but seems to me to be more or less equivalent otherwise. The Maglite costs $33. the Snap-on costs $266.

I think that if you bought the Snap-on, you'd impress your friends as being 'different'.
I'm not sure it's the kind of 'different' you'd want to be known for, though.

Not even in the same league. Just cause it's from china doesn't mean anything

A streamlight stringer led would be a closer comparison. But that snap on light feels much nicer. Tolerances are tighter and it's lighter.

What is the physical size of that light? Not sure if I would pay $$$...
