I'd sure like to lay my hands on one sometime. In the last 5 months I've seen 3 different snap on dealers and my best info on the EPIQ's has been from this board.

That seems steep I traded from KRL7022 to KERP763B5PBO for about 5250. I love the box except in pulse draw control I like lock roll better. Tell your dealer to sharpen his pencil.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
When did they release the EPIC? Also someone here bought a KRL1011 side cab which had the tool holders and such. It looked pretty cool, I was wondering if anyone has fabricated something similar using a side cab with slide out shelves?

i had a krl 1022 and a few months ago got a 68" epiq. a lot more space and the drawer layout is a lot nicer. overall, the smaller drawers are each 5" wider and the longer drawers are 8" wider. also, risers are available. and lockers. i just dont think end cabs are, yet. heres a pic of mine when i first got it.

My Snappy dealer offered me like 5-6K for my Bel Air box with matching side locker. My box was like 12.5K new. They used to give you what you paid for your box on trade but I guess that's out now. I wouldn't trade in my setup for another monthly bill and not much extra storage. The features are nice but NOT groundbreaking enough to trade up for me.

What's up with the wheels on Snappy's new boxes? No offense but I think they are ugly and too blingy. What happened to professional looking plain toolboxes. I must be getting old because the direction they are heading seems to point toward the idiot youth entering the field looking for some blingy eye candy box with crazy graphics and some gumby chrome wheels that look like they came off some idiots lowrider.

thanks for the input, i decided to stay with what i have. just not enough extra room for the cost difference. plus i like the triple bank with more individual drawers.

I've been looking at an epiq on the dealers truck for a few weeks now. Same size as the blue one, just in white. I think it looks sharp. If I was in the market for a brand new toolbox off the truck, then I wouldn't even think twice. I have a KRL, and although I think its a great box, I think the epiq is better.

thats a pretty sweet box! love the blue.

if theyre going to call it Epic... how about adding a keyless proximity lock? so whenever you walk away or towards it the box will lock or unlock. /that would be epic!

Not my box. If you'll notice, that box belongs to the guy I quoted. Both of you guys are quoting me, but I'm just the guy who quoted the other guy. :D

My dealer gave me a new Epiq brochure, and there is an "Extreme Wide-Guy" model shown that is a dual bank, but one bank is just the power drawer, then everything else is
end-to-end drawers ( like the top two,yet all the way to the bottom )

Then there is a picture of what must be the biggest setup out there. They take an 84 inch model for the base, add a riser, then an overhead on top.then on each side, there are two lockers attached together, with an overhead on top of those. So I'll bet that thing would be close to 50K.I wonder how many of those they sell?

Wow,just think what it would be like to have that many tools, and the skills to need them all!

I'd like a 68 inch model. My maximum space for a box measures 69 inches.....sure would fit custom! I think the white looks neat.I like the size of the drawers the best on that unit.

I wish I could,but I don't have a scanner.Hoping someone here has the same brochure and a scanner.

They don't show the wide-guy model on their website,I'll try punching the part number in tomorrow and see if it comes up in a search.

Can't wait til the new catalog comes out in another month or two,I like to see new stuff.

I made an offer to my SO rep on a box identical to the blue one posted. Haven't heard back from him yet. He has a 60" Epiq box but I want the 68". Doesn't have the 60" on the truck yet so I can't even check it out to see if I want an Epiq box. When I told him I wanted a blue one, he thought I was crazy. He thought they only made the 90th anniversary style.

I have a scanner but I used my brochure as a splash shield on the oil change after my snappy dealer left the shop after he insulted me with his trade up offer. :bounce:

Does that blue one in the picture look like a 60" or a 68" ?

I hate to say it, but $14,590.00 is pocket change to some of the mechanics in this country; those guys make BIG money.

he is in the army and just wanted to buy one.
a moving company crushed his old box and they asked me what the value of it was. I threw them a figure and they paid out 80 percent. guy gave me the 3800 bucks and told em to hold it until he figured out what he wanted.
he finally chose the kerp763a5pbo before he left for iraq and is sending $1000 a month to pay it off or get it almost paid off. he has a 10,000 credit limit as well.
All this for helping a guy that stopped me going down the street one day.....
you never know what will happen next....

I have lots of guys go over ( L3 aviation techs. ) they love it
120+ and they come back and load up on tools. plus they have to spend about 2000 before they leave to complete a tool list. So I get an initial buy from them then when they get back they play catch up for being gone....

Periodically ill see job listings for mechanic jobs in the middle east. They list pay as 100k+ and tax free. I would have gone out there a couple of years ago if i was single.

I just sold an M715 to a guy that contracted 2 tours with the DOD in Iraq as a diesel mechanic.
He was paid $250,000 per tour (each tour was a year) the first $90,000 was tax free. To get the 90k tax free you had to have boots on the ground in country for 331 consecutive days.
He said he worked 14 hour days, 7 days per week. The good part was ne spent NO money while there and banked the entire check.
This was according to the guy. I have no verification.

These Iraq-jobs sound like just the thing for me.
Is it only for US-citizens? Can somebody point me into a more concrete direction?
