So Im going to purchase a new used box for the house. Place Im going to sells like new used snap on boxes. Im looking at a KRL1022 or a Epiq 68" with stainless power top. The price difference is 2k and the KRL doesnt have a top on it which I would want to get. So is the price is worth it to just get the epiq??

I would say that price difference is almost certainly worth it. The epiq is an absolute delight to work out of in my opinion, love having the lighted power top myself, however mine is bedliner rather than stainless. I also prefer the drawer latches and the casters on the epiq boxes.

However I use mine for work rather than home, so your needs versus wants may very when factoring in the cost.

I have the KRL1022 with stainless top. I bought in about 7 years ago. I have been very happy with it. Having said that if I was buying a box today with the boxes and difference in price you are talking about I would probably go Epiq.

Thanks for the input.. Im leaning towrds the epiq. Its hard to swallow for home use but the 2k price diffence almost doesnt make sense to not just go with it. oh its a 54" KRL vs 68" epiq. I also have a KRSC cart that I love.

The 1022 and Epiq 68 aren't really comparable. The triple bay 1023 is a much closer match to the 68" Epiq in terms of size and capacity. Honestly, at that point, it's a matter of personal preference. You can't go wrong with either box.

Thought I replied to a bunch of these. I went with the KRL. I just couldnt justify the 2k difference.

Having worked on various surfaces / boxes, my impressions were Truck Bed Liner was the toughest out there but hell to write on, HDPE (it was an aftermarket top) was equally tough, but smoother - it was also softer and stained easier, Stainless is the go-to for most, and other than scratches and dings, just works. The wood is pretty, but it seems to get beat up most - depends on what you ask of it, and how gentle you are with it. I actually liked the ribbed floor mat surface as if it got screwed up, it would be cheap and easy to replace, and stuff doesn't roll around on it as easily.
