I am looking to upgrade my epiq 84 for a 75 macsimizer with hutch and 5930 top and bottom I do like drawer layout over snap on but hard to find information as it seems snap on boxes are 8:1 ratio over Mac tool boxes and not really liking the matco 6s

What is your opinion on these as the few threads I have found are old and not much information available over the snap on and macsimizer is what I am looking at the macsimizer hd is nice but limited on sizing compared to the macsimizer

There was a time not far away and not long ago, I would insist on North American made only. My goodness, how times have changed.
In 2024 the choices are many and few, if Made in USA is your priority. I understand that HF have a high quality line.
If I were in the market for a new box, I would make myself familiar with the dimensions of the drawers and their quality. Buy the biggest box you can fit in your space. This is the time to buy more than you think you need. If your toolbox has to moved every day the wheels take a beating. I like the wheel sets with the spring suspension.
ONe of the guys I worked with bought a monster toolbox. It had a sound system and TV. the company policy did not allow the used of either during work hours. There is 3, 9 hour shifts every day. With the overlap, wen do you use the electronics?
I have had nearly 30 toolboxes in 30 years. Most were buy and resell after freshening. I have more than 10 boxes left.
If you are a tool collector and polisher, go for the fancy wood top. Stainless starts life looking looking like a million bucks. It scratches easily. A hard look leaves a scar. I used rubber belting or commercial rubber floormat.
If you can find a nice SnapOn Or MAC and the price is right. Have a look at the back of top inside of the cabinets and look for a serial number. Call the manufacturer determine the box is paid and not listed on one of the tool company's credit accounts.
The numbers can be seen if the top drawer is pulled fully out. It is a popular scam to finance a toolbox then leave the company with the toolbox and place it on CL or FBMP. I do not trust many sellers.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
We had a double macsimiser as a school box that had the **** out abused out of it by students for years, and it kept on keeping on. My brother also has a Macsimiser as his work box, and he likes the drawer layout better (plus, he's already invested in it). Saying that I was looking at (still am if I can get over the GD import duties on one) custom Snappy Track box - have the layout ready to go, have the specs and goodies already specced out, electronics add ons ready... but I sure as **** do not want to pay an additional 26-34% of it's price to the gub'mint to bring it here...

I think it's all in what you like, the layout you like, the options you can get or the add ons you can customise into it... I'll be honest, some of the custome track boxes they use for FIM team boxes (which are a whole nuther level of 'spensive custom ****) really steered my direction on this. One point plug in, onboard air, onboard chargers, computer access, video feeds, sound systems... Er, um, yep!

Puzzled as well, but.... there is a macsimizer HD on the Snappy truck as a trade in, year old box, knew who bought it. Anyway he traded it because issues with slides on top drawer. Waited several weeks for Mac to fix it, nada. Had Mac corporate rep look and said they would fix it and nothing, so....
That's what snappy rep said.
But if you have a good rep and more storage then go for it. I never ha issues with my Mac box that I bought new. Traded it in only for a bigger box and no Mac dealer at the time

I am replacing an 84 epiq for a macsimizer 7530+hutch and a5930 with top box to replace and due to space this setup actually makes more space and I do like the extra wide drawer of the 7530 and not so many narrow drawers

And yes I have looked at snap on epiq mr big but not liking the usuable space on top and the side cabinet are not as space friendly for my needs

Wanting opinions as not many Mac box mentions here over snap on

I have 5 Mac Tool Boxes. 4 Macsimizers and 1 Tech Series. I believe all my Mac Boxes except 1 was produced at Georgetown Tool Box. One of the newer Boxes says Made in America with Global parts or something like that.

3 I purchased new, 2 Macsimizers, 1 Tech Series and the other 2 used. One used Macsimizer was used pretty hard in a Diesel Shop and required a couple of new Slides. The other used Macsimizer was never put in service thus new but I am the second owner.

Personally I like the Mac Boxes based on their construction and assembly methods. I like the feel of the Drawers although I do not like that they do not have positive retention devises on the Drawers. This is not a problem on 3 of 5 since they never move. 1 rarely gets moved. Typically for cleaning the floor under it. The other is moved daily and I have to remember to lock the Drawers.

The Tech Series proves to be a good box for the money and fit the purpose I had for it. The Macsimizer line is at a whole other level.

My opinion is biased as I only own 1 Snap-on Box which I got from a friend who passed away in '05. He bought it used and it has the Friction Slides. I did not consider that Box when buying the Macs. But I did go around to a number of different shops and looked at the Snappy's for comparison (KLR's). Probably the biggest reason for the selection of Mac was I could get a substantial discount on Mac and when I bought the Macsimizers/Tech the Epiq was not available. So in all fairness I could not compare to the Epiq.

I believe both Snappy and Mac make nice boxes for the long haul.

The Stanley Black and Decker Plant (Georgetown Tool Tool Box?) was shutdown Nov 1, 2019. Not sure who is making them now?

Just for clarity - You're swapping an 84" epiq, for a 73" mac with a hutch PLUS a 59" mac? More or less 84" being replaced with 132"? What's the approximate price on that, out of pocket? I'd assume you're trading the epiq?

I priced a Mr. Big as well, IMO the price was just silly. If you're storing diag stuff or cases/equipment the lockers are an awesome value IMO. That's what I plan on buying more of for my KRLs as time/space requires.
