I just purchased what was supposed to be a new tool off Ebay. Upon receipt, I have come to find that the shaft has been etched with a K****** number. Does snap-on provide this etching for their kits? Have any of you received such a tool from your truck guys? While you are at it, can anyone recommend a good Miami truck guy? I don't want to be on the receiving end of a stolen tool exchange. I've had too many tools stolen to get some bad tool Karma.

Posting a pic of what you were sent along with the markings would clarify things easily and quickly.

What may be an etching could be a S/N or a part number depending upon tool, supplier and year of mfgr.

Some Snap_on tools come with serial numbers like air impact wrentches and other air tools, but some specialty or custom tools have them as well.

We need more info.

I just moved, no cam handy. Besides, I'd like a chance to research it's provenance before getting inundated with "it's mine!" claims. It's an FLF80.
