Got a new kit for the ratchet while letting the original gear soak to see if it'd break free(it was frozen via compaction welding on the pawl).
It's been a few days so I decided to pop it out and see if it'd work and it's free but I noticed some differences between the new gear and old and thought some of y'all might think it's at least a bit interesting to see the changes between the 1988 and 2023 gears.

First, the pawl is one piece instead of 3 now. While the original doesn't seem to have any segments misaligned the new one obviously can't have that issue at all.

Second, the anvil to body form is slightly different. The old one is more of a direct forged look while the new one looks more machined with the base(circle around anvil) slightly off the body.
Everything else, the housing shape(naturally) and even the logo are the same though. I think the differences may actually be between the F747 and F747A since I've been told the handle is interchangeable even to the current model but I didn't find anything on what actually changed between models.
