Snap On Far25 vs Far25A, and do you use this tool?

I am debating whether or not to buy one of these to use regularly. I don't have an air ratchet and would like one for more repetitive work or use in tighter spacers to make life a little easier at times. I saw this ratchet but have seen the 25 and also the 25a, questions, 1) Do you know the differences of what the A is for? 2) Do you own or use this tool and is is useful for everyday working or just too small?

I dont have a answer for your first question but I do have the far2500 air rachet that I got for a good deal and I use it for little stuff like injector harnesses, the clamps to hold wires and battery terminals. But thats about it on heavy duty trucks

I have the FAR25 and have had it for years. As a body man I use it daily and love it. Couldn't tell you the difference between the two, I kind of assumed that once they revised it to the 25A the 25 was discontinued.

I think the 25A is just the newer version but someone may have to correct me on that.

I have one and use it quite regulary. Mine is about 8 or 10 years old now. It works great on small trim in tight areas of the engine bays as well as on small engines and motorcycles. I would say I use it more than my Snap-On FAR72 3/8" ratchet but not as much as my Snap-On IM31 3/8" gun or my Blue Point 1/4" AT235MCA micro gun.

SO is up to the FAR25C model at present. The FAR25 could be 20 years old but they changed it little from 'A' to 'B' until the 'C' model came out. Buying a used air tool can be a gamble unless you can try it out in person or buy it from someone you know who took care of it.

There is no FAR25C.

They went from the FAR25 to the FAR25A about 9 years ago. I think the difference was a design change in the ratchet head. Other than that, the design has not changed much. Good tool.

I got a far 2500 and will just say don't dog it. I had to warranty mine after 2 months. But I was beating it up pretty good, so I would blame it on me.

FAR25A; one of my favorite air tools! I bought mine used and had to have it rebuilt; excellent and fast tool! My dealer told me; if you ship a far25 to snap-on; they will put the "A" head in it when it gets rebuilt and upgrade anything to the latest revision parts. Get a impact 1/4" socket set and you are ready to go!
