Unless you must have SO try a Wright 3430

They both have the same 10mm 3/8 deep socket on them.

I love Snap On. They make great stuff, obviously. But if I were you, I'd also consider the Wright posted above and the SK version.

They both have smaller heads for tighter access, and you can get them for around $20-30. The SK has very fine action with very low reverse resistance. I really like it.

Here are some pics:

Thats an FK80 not an fc72, the fc72 is probably smaller then that Wright 3430.

I stand corrected i guess the FC72 does come in a flex.

fcf72 i have it and love it, i prefer flex heads much more versatile

Yeah, I have an FC72 also and it is nice, however the FKF80s are a million times better. Faaaar more useful. I have two FKF80s and one FC72 and I wish I had just gotten a third FKF instead.

I have this ratchet along with the long handle version (6.5'') and the flex head model as well. Great ratchets. I love the smooth feel of the mechanism.

How many teeth does the SK have? I don't see that detail on their website.

What about warranty on the SK ratchet? Are people still having problems getting repair kits for SK?

That is definetely a consideration; on something like this that you can pick up for cheap I consider it without warranty given SK's warranty policies of $5 per warranty and I think you owe shipping both ways to. With that said, I would probably buy 3 SKs for on Snap-On.

Both are still under consideration, as well as the FK80 / FKF80 that I posted about in the other thread.

Does Wright have a flex handle version of the FCF?

They don't offer a pear head ratchet ,but If your meaning a flex version of there tiny little round head # 3430 ratchet then .....

Yes they do, it is part # 3440 .

Here is the online catalog, scroll down to page 138.
The specs are on page 139.
http://www.wrighttool.com/pub/catalog_e.pdf

They have the fixed head chrome # 3430 ratchet on the same page as well as a industrial finish one part # 33430.
They are all listed as having 45 teeth.

Ive owned both the Wright and Snappy fc72 . My thought is if your grabbing a 3/8 drive in a 1/4 body its because room to work is a issue and Wright wins hands down.

Does the SK flex head ( PN 3767 ) have a index system like the Wright? I think I would before a free flowing design instead of a ball index setup like the Wright.

The Wright is listed as dual-pawl 41 tooth and a 4.5 degree swing arc though which is really good. I need to find out how many teeth the SK has.

Found my SK Hand Tool Catalog:

SK's professional slim ratchets utilize a 1/4" drive ratchet body with 3/8" drive tang, improving access in tight compartments.

SK's professional ratchets boast a robust 36 tooth design for high strength and durability.

For swing arc, the Wright and SO win hands down.

Hiball - Can you please post some pictures to this thread when you get it?

BB26 / All - Can you please post some pictures to this thread of the 3767 SK?

All - Can anyone post pictures of the FCF72?

Thanks! Then I think we'll have all contenders for the compact flex head USA made ratchets pictured.

I have the Wright flex ratchet in 1/4''. It is single pawl/45 teeth with 8 degrees of swing. Truly a beautiful piece. I can post some comparison pics of it and the SK flex this weekend. I believe the SK has more than 36 teeth, despite what the webiste says. I will check when I get home and post an update. The SK has a free flowing flex joint unlike the Wright, which has a ball/dimple design. I prefer the SK style, which is the same as SO.
