Went rummaging through some of my tools today and came across this long forgotten little box. I think I remember picking it up at a pawn shop about 15 years ago.

I think it's part of a Ferret set based on what I see here on page 12.

This one appears to be configured a little different though. It's still in nice shape but I don't know if I should try to fill it up with original tools or just sell the box. :headscrat

And me second...my poor ferret set is accumulating cat hair on the couch, desperately hoping for an end to the horrors of homelessness...it worked SO hard during World War Two, and now it's reduced to living in a cardboard box!! (Sob! Whimper!)

I say fill it with SO tools, or sell it to a guy who needs the box. There, I've got all the bases covered.

After digging around a little more I've found out that this box was not part a Ferret set, but rather part of a Midget set offered from 1960 and at least up until 1971. As I have not seen many of the Ferret tools, but actually own some of the Midgets (Everybody owns one or two Midgets, right?) I'm now thinking that this little box might be a bit easier for me to fill with some of the originals. :)

From the 1960 catalog, Pg. 22: http://www.collectingsnapon.com/catalogs/Catalog X.html

And from the 1971 catalog, Pg. 20:

It's interesting for me to see that the Midget set part numbers and some of the tool offerings within the set were changed up a bit over the years, but the box remained the same.

I've been working at filling up this neat old box with mostly period pieces. This box is a KRA-282 stamped with a 1978 date. It originally held 67 separate pieces and was sold as a kit under p/n 167-TM-B.

But now, not only am I trying to fill this box, but I'm also working to fill two others that I've picked up along the way. This little process has become VERY, VERY ADDICTIVE!!!!

The other two boxes are a 1983 dated KRA-225 sold under kit p/n 120-TM-B containing 20 pieces and a 1965 dated KRA-275 sold under kit p/n 136-TM-B containing 36 pieces.

My favorite box set has become the KRA-275. The box itself is near mint and I've been able to find some quality pieces to put in it, plus some little extras that I just personally like.

The KRA-282, still a long way to go....

The KRA-225, almost there...

The KRA-275, should be complete this week...:)

Oddly enough, nice single 12 point sockets with the underlined "Snap-on" logo have been the toughest pieces to acquire.
