I am considering a FHF80A ratchet. During research, I learned that the FHF80A is longer than the original FHF80.

Did any other Snap-On ratchets become longer with the "A" revision?

The FHF936A is 9 9/16 overall length while the FHLF936A is 13 5/8 inches overall length. ( Source Catalog 900 - June 1997 )

That sure as hell doesn't answer your question, but I thought it would be interesting since the FHLF80 and the current FHLF80A is 13 11/16.

How about this though?
FH100 = 8 1/2
FH80 = 9 1/2

The one I want is the FHLLF80 :)

It's been almost 24 hours since this thread was started and nobody has replied but me. What does that tell you? :D

If it wasn't for me, Critic would have a no-reply thread. It's always embarrassing when nobody replies. 😁

I saved your *** Critic! :bounce:

If it walks like a duck ....... You know the saying.

In this case they aren't. Snapon changed it for some reason that sounded good. They know their drivers and customers couldn't handle a new part number so the just added an A to denote it was version 2. :D:D;)

This brings up the question of soft handles. I have an old ?70? tooth ratchet with a stell handle. Can I get a SoftGrid?

I was going to lube and give it a good friend that used to be a mechanic with lots of Snapon. He sold everything to pay for University. He saw my ratchet and thought it was cool and wondered why I had it. It was in a box of junk at the auction.
