Probably more like 1962 ish. I'm not sure of the exact date, but my 1965 catalog only has a limited number of Flank Drive items listed. I bet Krusty knows.

the patent date for flank drive was 1965, so that set would be from 1990.

My findings tell me it's Sept. 20, 1966 (filed in Nov. 6, 1963), two years after Bonney's Loc-Rite patent.

i paid £80 which is roughly $130 i was at work and a guy noticed my box and asked if i wanted to buy some so tools went to have a look and bought the lot
he has rang me today to say he has found another ring spanner that matches the rest that i can have
any idea how much the 25th aniversary set would fetch?

That is some sweeeeeeeeeeet looking tools. At $130, I'd say you did pretty well. You didn't steal them but you could certainly double your money if you wanted to sell them.
As far as the anniversary set, i don't know specifically about the collectablilty aspect but 6 SO wrenches should bring between $60 and $90 easily. It may be worth more, I'm just not sure, but full sets tend to sell well. Good luck and thanks for sharing the pics.
