Snap On discontinued the FD+ extra long wrenches quite a while back and I always regretted not getting a set. They kept the regular ones but dropped the Plus. Well they're back and my dealer had them on promo (don't know if it's his promo or Snap On's) I didn't let them get away this time! Set number is: SOEXLM710B

Ok, how much longer are the XL compared to the standard length FDP?

the older ones were only like an open end heads length longer which to me wasn't that impressive.

Last year they had a bogo deal. Buy metric get the standard. It stayed on the truck for a while. Kept passing them up. I ended up getting them and very glad I did.

Hard to say, it's more than just the inch or so you describe. I'll get a comparison pic tomorrow next to my FDP wrenches from the 90's

Watched the same. Typical Snap-On bid war driving prices to idiotic heights. The metric set has a street price of 200-225 so someone just paid another $210 for basic set of standard.

$433, that's a great deal..***** you didn't get it. I love me some flank drive plus. They've proven themselves to me over and over. I'll end up with the SAE set, I'll just have to sneak up on 'em.

I have a FD+ set of metric wrenches that I bought new. I think they are plenty long already. Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure the SAE wrenches I bought brand new are FD+ as well. I have the 3/8-1" set
