Snap on floor jacks

Are they any good? I'm going to see one from a CL add today. Just wondering what to look for. What models are good? Are the older ones USA made?

Please limit Elroy to the small frame Hein-Werners. Hiball has all the bases competently covered.

Add just says snap on floor jack. No pics and no other details. When did they start rebadging Asian jacks?

Maybe some of the Dealers can chime in, but it was probably 6+ years ago. If i had a picture or a model number, i could tell imediately if its American design or Import. It coinsided with Hein Werner buying Lincoln out, which happened around 2004 i believe.

If the tag is still legible it should have the USA on it somewhere, Here are what to look for as far as the pump area. This is your Typical Walker/Lincoln pump and they all the look the same, 1 single pump, with the only exception being the fill plug location, Pre 85 its on the unit ( like the pic) after its on the resevoir.

Thanks Hiball. I'll look for that pump. How much are these jacks worth in working order? The guy wants $100. I figure that a new Chinese jack costs almost that much.

Snapon sounds like gold to many sellers, I'd rather find the non rebadged Lincoln or HW jack.

New jacks are priced all over the map, but HF sells a $59 jack few have any complaints about.

I already have 3 chinese jacks including a HF. I'm trying to trade up and move away from Chinese tools. I just don't enjoy owning them if they are not US or EU made.

Depending on the tonnage, I sell 1 1/2 ton all day long out of my shop for $125-150. It its a 2 1/2+ add $75-100 depending on condition.

On the more recent Snap on stuff during the lincoln rebadge era you could supplement 93 in place of the YA and get the cross reference.

Old post but the same exact 3 ton floor jack snap on sells for 1,000 dollars is made by the same company who makes that same exact jack for Daytona that sells at harbor freight for 150-200 dollars.
