I've been ordering a ton of stuff through snap-on's sep program, got this torque wrench about a month ago. I am wondering if they sent me a quality control reject because I'm getting it for such a steep discount. The 'OFF' stamp is almost non-existent and the chrome on the ratchet head is full of pits. The chrome on the rest of it is flawless. Any of you guys have the same issue? I've been using it for the last month so its too late to return it

I wonder if the "off" stamp is a victim of overzealous polishing, trying to get rid of the pinholes before plating. You see this from time to time with poorly refinished guns.

Toss it on Ebay with a reserve for the same price it would cost you for a new one and see what it would fetch. I bet the listing would be $.50 and could be a $ maker!

Called Snap-on today, they referred me to my local SO industrial rep. Called him and he said he will order a new one and I can exchange it

Hell, I have a combination ratcheting wrench in 16mm where the box wrench ratchet end was drilled off-center. Snap-On does goof up from time to time.

I would only bother to warranty something if it affected its functionality, but that's just me.

You paid for a brand new tool; it should be correct and finished to that standard... glad you got a good one for a warranty. I have been seeing more QC issues like this lately.. go figure!

I would definately try to sell it on ebay with a reserve for a new one... plus shipping... do a short 3 or 4 day auction... Ya never know.... As mentioned, RARE!! WOW!! LOOK!!... I can't help but look at those, even though 99% are quite original... ha ha.
