has anyone looked at the bid history of that auction? the same 3 people bid multiple times in a row. one user bid 11 times in a row. is that an indication that the auction was rigged?

Did it occur to anyone that Snap-On may have been forced to bid on it for some reason?

Not forced ... but... yes it has crossed my mind that Snap On may have an interest in who is selling tools that they haven't publicly disclosed or put up for sale yet.

I had a few email exchanges with the seller who didn’t know how rare the ratchet was at the time and got it direct from Snap On in Tennessee which I believe is the factory. I doubt the auction was fixed as the seller would have to know how high to bid without winning the sale.

Sweet ratchet man. Post up your thoughts about it. How do you like the quick release vs pulling off the socket?

I got one ordered today $84 bucks but I wish I knew it was available with a soft grip handle. Now I'm debating whether I should cancel and get the soft grip version.

Im not impressed with the chrome at all.

It road home in a bucket of bolts....I take care of my tools but they are tools after all, not jewelry. The rest of the trunk had the important ****, 8 pistols that I was bringing home from the safe at work that were protected very well. I also dropped Makgreens a spare 3/8" drive impact that was rolling around in the front floorboard.

Not to imply you don't take care of yourtools. It is a very nice ratchet but, If this were a craftsman ratchet you just bought, everyone would be complaining about the "shoddy" chrome jobs that craftsman tools now have and that they are asian junk now. ( I am impling to the close up photo of the ratchet head ) But since it is a snapon ratchet, it is GOLD in everyones eyes, even if the chrome on a harbor freight ratchet looks better and the fact that the snapon in question is not stamped USA and made in asia. Just doesnt make any sense to me.

chadster hit the nail on the head on that question.
get the fh936-12g, but i ordered a bunch of them the other day so there might not be many out there in snap on land.
It will come with the red/black handle, but you can remove that and put on what ever you want. I bet a green hard handle would look good on one.

Just ignore it
Seriously, just ignore it, even acknowledging that comment exists brings it one step closer to starting yet another shitfest.

Nice looking ratchet, not a huge fan of quick release myself, but in some cases I wouldn't mind it.

If we can't get the green one on at the factory (stupid IMHO), then what hard handle would be the size for this?

I know but it just bothers me. I never see anyone doing anything about it either. If I slammed Duralast in a Duralast thread I'd expect a swift vacation from the site but these trolls continue to beat up on Snap on and get away with it. It's too bad we've lost so many great members to this site because of it.

When my hands get covered in any fluid I dont go about taking off sockets. I go clean my hands first. Otherwise you just make the mess even bigger. Has removing sockets off a wrench taken that big a of an effort?

You must use your teeth to remove yours......

The chrome doesn't look that bad. To make you guys happier, when I get a break away from the Bobcat later today, I'll try to take a new picture for you.

Sometimes I'm on a rush job and I have to change from say a 10mm to a 12mm or something stupid like that. A quick release rat. makes it easier. I currently use a 3/8 flex head C-man in non polish for this type of work.

What I believe it means is that somebody was increasing their bid in small increments but not surpassing the high bidder's proxy bid.

So party A bids $50 let's say but his high bid at the time was just $25 because Party B had a high proxy bid of just $24. So Party C sees a $25 high bid and then bids $30, not enough, then $35, not enough, then $45, not enough and finally $55 which was enough but makes current high bid just $51 with his proxy bid of $55.

That's just an example but my take on bidding histories like that.
