I've seen this before and then seen it the other day in the catalog. I asked my driver yesterday what it is used for and he didn't even know what it was really used for. He said he doesn't carry them on his truck and nobody has ever even asked for one

I can't really even sit here n try to fathom how it works

When you don't have a straight shot with an extension, you can use two to make a lateral transition.

Or 1 to use an extension as a breaker bar of sorts.

I'd like to see a picture of them in use so I can visually understand haha.
Can't wrap my brain around it

Who knows?
You make an unlimited length breaker bar. I wouldn't put too much torque on it though.

I actually started a thread on this same tool a year ago or so. If you search on goole or mu profile you'll find it. Someone else did too, but I can't remember who.

I look at that above picture and I still can't understand how that would turn

All the cases where they show it being used, none of them are where you would be able to use a ratchet... I think it's a situation where there's a solution looking for a problem... I really haven't seen one instance where the same thing couldn't be accomplished with a breaker bar, an extension and a crow's foot or socket.

And, yes. I do have two of them! :)

It seems to me to be an item that covers that unique 1 in 10,000 bolt you come across that there is just no other way to get to without tearing a bunch of other stuff off first. But, it's cheap enough to have in your arsenal of tools... just in case you need it.

I guess that explains why my driver doesn't carry any on his truck then.

Try using them while replacing an AC compressor, ABS pump or steering rack, places you wish you had a shorter flare nut wrench. It's one of those tools that will open up almost endless possibilities as long as you figure out where to hold the rig and how to pull (you're not turning on the same axis, it gets really tricky).

That's awesome, thank you for posting the article Givl. I don't see a date on it but must have been when Snap On put out the tool a few years ago. This is a tool I own and I'm thrilled to now know that's how it came to production.
